There are lots of interesting things coming out of the Tamashii Nations 2016 show, especially in the realm of S.H. Figuarts. New WWE figures including Vinny Mac himself? Pokémon, Tiger Mask, and Dragon Ball Z, awesome. And as always, sneaky pictures of Star Wars figures that may or may not come soon.
I say that because there is lots of Star Wars Figuarts that have been shown but haven’t been solicited yet. C-3PO, R2-D2, General Grievous. Then some we saw a long, long time ago (in a toy show across the seas) but took a while to come out, like the upcoming Han Solo and teased Buddy Chewbacca. But let’s take a look at some of the other stuff first.
Pokémon has come back in a big way so it only makes sense for Bandai to get some nice figures out there. Team Rocket looks fantastic and Ash with Pikachu aren’t slouches either.
The Dragon Ball Z line continues strong with Nappa, Tien, Yamcha, and others.
Oooo, Tiger Mask and Tiger the Dark.
I had just decided to pass on the S.H. Figuarts WWE Triple H and then comes along Vince McMahon and Undertaker. I’m hoping the alternate heads for the Dead Man are a little better though. This one isn’t terrible but I’m not too keen on eyes looking down.
And now for the icing on top, sneaky S.H. Figuarts Star Wars pic!
Okay, so you have to kind of turn your head and squint but you can make out old man Han and FN-2187 from The Force Awakens on the bottom to the left, with Resistance garb Rey and BB-8 above them. So perfect it hurts. We have a Black Series Jakku Rey, along with a MAFEX Jakku Rey coming soon, Bandai picked a great version for their first STar Wars female. Something we haven’t gotten anywhere before. I’m interested in seeing what is being displayed further left.
But in that pic you can also see a couple of new Movie Realization figures hidden among the others. One in the middle and then a blue one on the far right of the case. It turns out those are Darth Maul and Captain America.
I laugh when I see pictures of toys with the “No Photography” sign so obvious in the background. Now where are the closer pics of the The Force Awakens figures?? Stay tuned, the show has barely started.
