While Comicave Studios’ 1:12 scale Iron Man Mark 43 is right around the corner, they aren’t stopping there. Mark 33 is up for pre-order and now we have Marks 7 and 39 to look forward to!

We may not be hurting for Iron Mans, especially from the overseas companies, it seems they keep trying to outdo previous versions with each release. Just look at all the features on Mark 43, due this month.

Not to even mention the awesome packaging.

The Mark 33, Silver Centurion, is due in July and has the same dicast mix, along with some great accessories.

To take things even further, the Mark 7 continues the trend with the metal and advanced articulation, along with what looks like MORE accessories. Flaps, rockets, blasts. Geez.

Finally, the announcement of the Mark 39, Starboost. I like the white and carbon fiber look, but this is digging deep. The Silver Centurion has root in the comics so I can see grabbing that one, but this one is a little out there. But who know, I’m a sucker, so I may end up with it.

The thing that sticks out at me with these is that they aren’t rehashes on the same body. I can appreciate that.

Comicave’s store has free shipping on everything, and if you sign up for their newsletter you get $20 off your first order. That puts these within Figuarts and other import toy range. Not bad if you’re interested in giving one a test drive.

  1. I just wish they would do War Machine mark 1 & mark 3. I remember them showing prototypes of the mark 1 at SDCC the last time I went, but I’ve never seen one for sale on their site. (I know they did that oversized one, but I want an actual in-scale one.)

  2. True, I feel the same way about Hot Toys Iron Man suits. I can’t believe how many they’re still producing, but they apparently still sell tons.

  3. Releasing figures of an incredibly popular character seems to be the opposite of crazy.

  4. I’m torn. I’ve always liked the Starboost armor and promised myself that if it ever came to 6-inch form I would get one, but I was expecting a $50-$60 Figuarts, not a $100+ diecast figure. Even with $20 off, that’s steep.

  5. You’re right, but I’m thinking specifically on Japanese 6 inch figures. And my point is that when it looks that there’s a saturated area for figures, like Iron Man, you suddenly got a new brand with more and more figures. I think it’s a bit crazy, how the same figures are released again and again, but anything new seems risky. Maybe it’s just me.

  6. Who said there is no market for Leia and Padme figures? There’s tons of each.

  7. Sweet baby Jesus, Starboost!!! One of my all-time favorites. I was ***this*** close to picking up the Hot Toys version, so I’m all over this one.

  8. I think it’s because action figure companies like separating the genders into separate sub-markets, so it’s easier for them to market and such. It’s bullshit, and I’d like to see it change, but it’s how they’ve made it work.

  9. They look amazing. Perhaps the best of the 1/12 Iron Men. Hope they eventually are given the chance to do comic armors.

  10. Sounds crazy to me, when we hear there’s not enough market to have Leia or Padme figures then having 485 different Iron Man versions from 37 companies it’s just ok. Still undecided on my Iron Man, but I’m sure I’ll just get one.

  11. JESUS Comicave, stop revealing Iron Man figures I need to buy! I already ordered your Mark 43! What more do you want from me?!?
