This season of Arrow hasn’t exactly been the most consistent. Some weeks it’s exceptional and others it’s the weakest of the CW superhero slate. That said, DC Collectibles has done a great job cranking out figures from the popular series. So far we’ve gotten most of the principal characters from the previous three seasons, and, with season 4 winding down, I figured now would be a good time to take a look at the most essential characters necessary for the next Arrow figures wave.
Keep in mind I’ll be referencing some potential spoilers from this season, so if you’re waiting to binge, consider yourself warned.
Damien Darhk — If viewers could count on anything this season, it was that Neal McDonough’s character was going to consistently be entertaining. We definitely need a figure of the principal season 4 villain. For his accessory, give him his magical power providing totem.
Spartan — While we just got our first figure of Oliver Queen’s old bodyguard, we definitely should get a version sporting Diggle’s new superheroic costume, complete with Magneto shout-out helmet.
Overwatch — Remember that way-too-brief awesome story arc where Felicity became even more of an Oracle homage? This update would feature Felicity with a shorter hairstyle and wheelchair where she can throw pity parties and operate mission control for Team Arrow.
Vixen — Easily one of my favorite episodes this season was “Taken,” which featured Team Arrow getting an assist from the animal ability heroine from Detroit.
Vixen is probably one of the most likely season 4 characters to get a figure thanks to her costume, which would look great in the DCC style.
Captain Lance — Considering he’s on the short list of viable candidates to be in the mysterious grave, hopefully we can actually get a figure of Papa Lance. To cover our bases, maybe DCC could give us two head sculpts — one with season 1-era with full head of hair and a season 4 close-cropped hairstyle.
Hawkman — While I’m sure DCC is considering a dedicated Legends of Tomorrow line, for non-spoiler reasons, adding Hawkman based on his “Legends of Yesterday” look would be a nice addition. We can expect only so many civilian figures, and considering their longstanding comic book history, Hawkman would make a fitting addition in the Arrow line.
Cupid — Arrow’s homicidal archer crush and occasional Suicide Squad member would be a fun addition to the line, and we can never get enough archers.
John Constantine — I was a big fan of Constantine during its blink-and-you-missed-it run on NBC. I was ecstatic that star Matt Ryan made an appearance on Arrow in “Haunted.” I’m hoping he returns or becomes a regular on Legends.
Nyssa — Merlyn’s rival for control of The League of Assassins would make a great figure. She’s one I’m a little surprised hasn’t been made already.
