It is the middle of the month and Toy Guru is back more DC and Masters of the Universe answers.
1. Will Hawkman be released with all 3 of his accessories (mace, shield, and sword) or have some not costed? Also- any chance of seeing a fully painted picture?
We’ll have a fully painted Hawkman on display at our booth at San Deigo Comic Con. And yes, he will come fully armed with shield, sword and Nth metal mace.
2. Can you give us a rough estimate of how much new stuff we are going to see across the DC board at
We wil be showing about 1/3 more product at
3. Can you give us a hint about what kind of characters the new Masters of the Universe Classics will focus on right out of the gate? Will they be the big guns like in the 200X line or will you be sneaking in some more obscure characters right at the start too?
We will definitely be starting with the core character as the first few releases. But as the year goes by, we have already slotted in some figures not made in the 2002 line (or the Staction line!) as well as at least 1 figure who has never been made as a figure before.
4. Are we going to see a batman related character (Penguin, Harley, NW, Robin, Beyond, Riddler…) in every wave of DCUC or is that just a funny coincidence that has happened so far?
Just a coincidence. There just happened to be a few
5. How has DCUC performed as a brand for Mattel so far? Series 2 has been very scarce from the start but Series 1 is relatively easy to get ahold of- is the line selling well?
Only half of Wave 2 has shipped. The Ronnie case packs should be hitting stores very soon. That should make Wave 2 a bit easier to find. The line has been performing very well and everyone at Mattel is very excited about the amazing fan interest. We can’t wait to meet so many fans in person at SDCC.
