What do you know of death?
What do you know of the abyss that lays beyond a stilled heart and a silenced tongue?
I know of death and rebirth. I know of endings and beginnings. I have seen past the void, and have returned a new man.
I no longer walk the path I once walked. I no longer seek that which I once believed important.
Death has shown me the truth of myself.
I was a coward.
I was a hollow shell, grasping for power and fortune, clawing away at the ground beneath my feet, digging my grave one sodden clump at a time.
But the specters of my past have no hold over me any more.
I fear nothing. I am free.
I have defeated my demons, my ghosts, and the corrupting thoughts that once plagued my every waking moment.
What do I know of death?
Death has cleansed me. Death has purified me.
Death has erased a past that I look back on with shame. Death has provided me with a chance to atone for everything I once was.
Death has shown me a new path, one that I will walk with honor.
If you are a man like I was, who carries the demons I once carried, who contributes only pain to the world… pray you never meet me.
