eBay Frenzy 03/03/19: DC and Marvel Custom Galore!

It’s Sunday again, do you know what that means?? Binging The Umbrella Academy! Also, customs on eBay! And it’s not all Marvel Legends!

In fact, it’s been about a month because of Toy Fair and various other distractions, so there is a metric ton of amazing stuff up for auction at the moment. I can’t feature it all, although I wish I could, but here’s some of the work that jumped out at me.

Like this diorama piece. I’m a complete sucker for a “memorial” type piece, and double sucker for Robin.

And a damaged street diorama. I can’t help it, I acquired a similar piece recently and now I have the bug.

Okay, just one more dio with a lot of rubble options. Tell me it’s not cool.

I’m not a big Captain Planet guy but the thought of a more down and dirty version intrigues me. Plus, beard. Whoa.

How about a little Mortal Kombat? Montaro? Eh? Eh?

After a big show like Toy Fair happens, where there is a lot of reveals, I usually see a rash of auctions of people selling their customs in preparation for an official figure. Today I saw some Nightcrawlers, a Boom Boom or two, and Colussus. But this Rock Python caught me off-guard.

I love this Snake Eyes, but what put it over the top is the subtle gray color punched in there. Sets it apart from others I’ve seen.

I like the base used for Nightwing, gives it a more tactical feel, but the use of the Paul Rudd smirk? SOLD!

AWESOME ANDY!

It’s amazing how more sand can spruce up a Sandman figure.

Very nicely done Ahab, I just wish there were more pictures.

Same for this Exodus.

Going old school Guardians of the Galaxy with this Charlie-27!

I love love love this Korg and Miek, even more the added sculpt to the Thing figure to really kick it up a notch.

This customizer has become a favorite of mine because of his unique style and photo skills, and his Green Goblin is no different. Just look at the rest of his auctions. Amazing stuff.

Whoa, this Red Skull is creepy as hell.

Yellow is a pain in the ass but nicely executed on this Bumblebee.

Yes, I’m still in X-Force mode, and I’m having trouble trying to decide what my perfect Sunspot would look like. Powered down? Powered up? Too plain? Not on this custom. I dig the little effects seeping off the body, and the black and yellow work perfectly.

But man oh man, the build and paint work on the Legion of Superheroes Tellus is downright magical.
