The Fwoosh trip through Banda’s S.H. Figuarts Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is coming to a close. After the Green Ranger we’ll cover the White Ranger and then the Super Robot Chogokin Megazord. Yes, we will cover the Chogokin Megazord. It’s a great piece of toy that needs to be included in this archive. Enough babble! On to the Green Ranger!
Tommy, oh Tommy! You were ’90s cool, your long hair, good looks, rebellious nature, and the winner of Kimberly’s heart! The most awesome Power Ranger ever! Aight, Tommy was played by Jason David Frank and was the perfect person for the part. I’ll admit, I even liked the Green Ranger! Yes, I did watch a few episodes, but not enough to make me an expert. I did some reading and Tommy’s been a pretty consistent character through multiple seasons and different Power Ranger series.
The figure, well I’ve done run out of things to say about these S.H. Figuarts Power Rangers. They are all using the same base figure, which means the sculpts are all the same, as is the articulation. However, the Green Ranger has some differences: he the new head sculpt and some fancy gold armor. I’ve no idea about the significance of the armor, but Bandai did a great job matching the armor to the show. This is a great-looking figure and is fun to pose and play with.
I’ll add a note about the accessories here: he comes with a big sword and a knife that he can play like a flute or kick major bad-guy ass. I’ll gander it’s a greatsword of some kind. The sculpts on these things are insanely good, I mean really sharp. I want to use that sword for some of my fantasy figures that don’t exist. And, as always, there are a ton of hands that you swap out and play around with. Bandai’s really figured out this accessory bit.
Before I close this out, I have to give a big thank you to my son for snapping the pictures and doing the edits on them. He’s learning and I’m certain in time he’ll be making his old man look bad.
