Coming at you again this week, the Fwoosh is proud to bring you another look at another Mighty Morphin Power Ranger! Power Morphicon was this past week, and it seemed like perfect timing to bring another Power Rangers review to the front page. Last week we brought you the Red Ranger, Billy Cranston, portrayed by David Yost. Yost had a long career in the Power Rangers series — over three eras and many seasons, actually.
The Blue Ranger is attached to Triceratops Dinozord and was the brains of the group. You know, the “Spock” of the group. It’s interesting that the Blue Ranger and Spock both wear blue. Other than that, he’s your average smart guy supporting the team with sciencey stuff.
The action figure is basically a complete copy of the Red Ranger; from neck to toe the sculpt is the same. The show’s costume designs make it easy for Bandai in that all they need to do is rinse and repeat with the base body. The one area where they have to do something different is the head sculpt. Each Power Ranger has an individual head sculpt matching their show counterparts, and they are really well done. I was pretty amazed when I did a quick compare on Google to see how the sculpt matched the reference material.
The articulation is the same as every other S.H. Figuarts figure out there. They have a system and it’s repeatable and reliable. Be careful with these figures as the ball joints can be too loose or very tight. For tight joints a quick silicone spray will help and loose joints a drop of superglue. Here’s the breakdown:
