Goodness gracious, you waited long enough for these, didn’t you? Well, wait no longer! The votes are counted, and we’re gonna let you know who won this thing.
This poll was something new for us. Traditionally, we conduct a poll of our members’ top ten most wanted characters for various action figure lines. But with the arrival of Mattel’s Club Infinite Earths, we decided to run a top 8 poll. That is, top 5 standard, monthly figures and top 3 “oversize”, quarterly figures, since that’s what is left to be unveiled for 2012’s subscription. Today, we reveal the winners of the top five “regular” figure poll. In part 2, we’ll have the winners for the top three “deluxe” figures.
But first, in homage to our top tens past, let’s take a look at the runners-up. These are the characters that placed 6 through 10. In the past they would have made the cut, but in this poll they’re out of luck.

- Larfleeze
- Scandal Savage
An interesting group. Elongated Man just barely missed out, but it must be noted that if we added the votes he got in the oversize category, his overall total would put him solidly in the #1 spot. DC licensing people, don’t be fooled by his 6th place finish: WE WANT A 6” ELONGATED MAN ACTION FIGURE SCULPTED BY THE FOUR HORSEMEN. A LOT. So there. Liberty Belle and Ice are perennials in our DC polls, but Scandal Savage hasn’t really been on the radar until now. I think people really want a Secret Six team, now that they have Catman figure to go with Deadshot and Bane. Larfleeze, of course, was recently announced by Mattel for the mass-retail, DC All Stars line. Hurray! This poll is already out of date!
And with that, let’s look at the real winners!
#5 FIRE (42 votes)
I always find it odd that Fire and Ice don’t get exactly the same number of votes every time. Who are the people out there that want a Fire figure without Ice? It’s crazy! Anyway, Fire has had strong showings in our poll for quite some time. Mattel should get to her (and Ice) before she becomes the DC version of Jim Lee Jean Grey.
#4 Ragdoll (49 votes)
The Secret Six have always been popular, but it’s interesting to see this surge in demand for their figures, now that their series has been cancelled. Someone call Alanis Morrisette—tell her I’ve got an example! I think getting Catman in the Batman Legacy line had a lot to do with driving the desire for Ragdoll and Scandal, as well as some of the kick-ass customs of Ragdoll that have appeared over the last year or so.
#3 Platinum (56 votes)
This is an interesting one. Lead is another character that, if we combined his votes between the two categories, would have easily been in the top 5 ahead of Platinum. Also, a very large percentage of people that voted for Platinum and Lead (or even Doc Magnus, for that matter) added “with Tin pack-in”. We can’t really count those votes for Tin because it goes against the voting instructions, but if we did Tin might have even more votes than Platinum or Lead. So who is truly the most wanted Metal Man? It’s difficult to say. But what we can say for certain is that PEOPLE WANT TO COMPLETE THE METAL MEN. Make it happen Mattel. Make it happen.
#2 Huntress (58 votes)
The Huntress is another character that’s appeared near the top of our DCUC polling since the line began. While a few of us noted they’d prefer the Earth-2 Helena Wayne version, it seems most want Helena Bertinelli. Either way, it’s hard to imagine that Mattel could get through another whole year without making a Huntress. They couldn’t, could they?
#1 Granny Goodness (80 votes)
This was a blowout. In all the Fwoosh polls we’ve ever done, for any figure line, I don’t remember seeing a landslide like this. Granny is the winner going away, AND that’s not even counting the additional votes she got in the oversize category. If Mattel ever wanted to gauge fan demand for Granny Goodness, I think we’ve answered them. We may only be one site in the ether, but these results are really, really hard to deny. We’re all Granny’s children.
