DC Universe Classics Club Infinite Earths Top Eight Vote

We are going to strike while the iron is hot! DC Classics Superfans, since it was announced that Club Infinite Earths is moving forward in 2012, we need to make our voices heard! Now more than ever, without the constraints of needing to pic “retail friendly” characters, we can go deep and make sure Mattel can hear the voice of subscribers and cherry pickers alike. We are going to run our “Top Eight” very much the same way we have run the Top Tens in the past, but since there are only 5 regular slots and 3 oversized/deluxe items left to be determined in 2012, we are going a little smaller. Please read all of the rules carefully to make sure you vote counts! We won’t be leaving the vote open for very long this time due to planning for the line, so vote early!

The Rules

1. You may vote once in the Top Eight vote. You must be a registered member of the Fwoosh to vote. For your reference, here is the link to the voting thread.

2. These are votes for the eight characters you want to be made into action figures (5 standard and 3 oversized) for the Club Infinite Earths.

3. It is absolutely critical that you post your votes in the following format:

Liberty Belle
Granny Goodness
Mark Moonrider
Platinum
Cyclone

Big Bear
Lead
Elasti-Girl

4. List the 5 six inch figures on their own line, then place an extra space, then list your three oversized figures. Feel free to copy and paste the list above and then change the characters to your picks (or keep them as they are, as those are MY votes)

5. NO numbers. They all have to be spaced one name per line, not sentence format. We feed this into a computer program and it’s very important for us counting these up that it’s in this format. The order you list the characters in is not important!

6. Check your spelling. As we said, we are feeding this into a computer program, and it’s important all characters have their names spelled correctly. It also helps if we all go by the same names. For example, if someone put Robin down in their vote and then someone else put down Tim Drake down in another vote, it’d be counted as different characters. So please try to be consistent and use the same names.

7. As you know, many of DC’s Characters are Legacy Characters so if you want to list a specific version of character in your vote, use this format:

Hourman [Rick Tyler]
Dr. Mid-Nite [Pieter Cross]

We can’t normalize the versions of characters without a lot of extra work. When we tabulate the votes, versions and costumes are not factored in (but characters are). However, we like it listed in your vote so we can get a sense of what versions of the characters people want. Please keep it as short as possible, because we deal with this manually and that saves us some time.

8. No “talking” in the voting threads. This thread is for voting only. If you want to talk about the vote, post in the vote discussion threads, listed below. This thread is only for data collection, and should have nothing in here except votes.

Discussion Thread

9. No voting for the same character more than once in a list. This goes for variations of the same character. For example you can’t vote for Zatanna in 4 different costumes, as this would skew the vote.

10. Only one vote per person. We have multiple ways to identify duplicate votes, so don’t try to vote under a different name. If you see the breadcrumb spot on the topic, then you already voted in the thread. You can always check this if you’ve forgotten your vote.

You may edit your vote as many times as you want, until the voting has closed.

11. If you don’t follow the rules, your vote won’t be counted.

The Line-Up

As a reference, the following characters have been confirmed by Mattel for the Club:

Atrocitus

The Flash [Jay Garrick]

Starman [Thom Kallor]

Poison Ivy

Metron (Club Exclusive)

Also, keep in mind that Mattel has stated that the new retail strategy is to focus on the heavy-hitters, A-Listers and “mom friendly” characters. A-list includes guys like Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc. You may, of course, vote for these characters but consider how to make your votes have the most impact, Big Bear needs all the help he can get and the Club shows us that anything is possible.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me. Have fun and enjoy the vote!
