I know I said that the last pics of the Star Wars Speeder Bike with Biker Scout model kit were the last we’d probably see before in-hand pics, but I lied. There are a couple of more, and I also have a few more thoughts on the Sandtrooper.
Yes, I stare at pictures of these things way too long, especially before they arrive on my doorstep. As many of you know I am infatuated with this line. The build, the final product, it’s all a huge love affair with me. Sure, there are a couple of downfalls like how light they are and that dreaded Stormtrooper belt, but overall I have fun with these. And fun is the name of the game.
Here are a couple of more promo shots of the Speeder Bike. Now, this baby is already making it’s way around the world to a lot of people so these pics are coming in a little late. That’s fine though. It preps us even further on what to expect.
I like the upskirt shot of the bike the most, gives me an idea of how detailed it is and how many tiny parts are going to make me pull my non-existent hair out.
You can still order this kit on AmiAmi.
Last week I posted about the Sandtrooper model kit being shown at the Tokyo International Toy Show ’15, and I commented on how different the helmet looked compared to the Stormtrooper model kit, as well as the belt. I completely glossed over the fact that the three Sandtroopers shown all had different colored pauldrons.
I was too focused on the actual sculptural differences that I guess I went colorblind. But this is awesome. Yeah, it means I need to order more but it gives me a choice right off the bat. Not that I can make that important a decision right now. I’ll spur of the moment that when I get it together.
Looking closer, it also seems we can mix and match the backpack options.
You can see that one pack has a small tube on top, the other doesn’t, and the various cylinders and rectangles are positioned differently. This being a model kit, of course all those pieces are going to be separate entities, but giving us that option is appreciated. But looking at the two pics above, the helmets even look different from each other. Almost like the black band above the eyes is adjustable, which wasn’t the case with the Stormtrooper. But it is seen in the movies between stunt and hero helmets.
Hmmm.
Now we need a model kit Dewback.
