Toy Fair ’15: Mezco One:12 Collective

Toy Fair 2015 Mezco Dark Knight Returns Batman Featured

Today at the Mezco Toyz booth, we spoke with Pierre Kalenzaga, one of their reps about the One:12 Collective. The first figure, Dark Knight Returns Batman should be out very soon, with Judge Dredd following later in the year. This week, Mezco also revealed the mutant leader from Dark Knight Returns, which will be the third figure in the line.

While we’ve seen prototypes of these figures from behind lucite, we’ve been dying to find out what they’d be like in-hand. How pose-able would the figure actually be? How would the articulation look and feel beneath the taut fabric costume? Well, we got our chance! Check out this video, where we put Batman through the paces while the Mezco rep shares some thoughts about the figure.

The figure feels incredibly solid, hits just about any pose you can imagine, and holds it firmly. Judge Dredd’s costume is made from a slightly different material, and his body is an entirely different sculpt beneath it, but we’re assured that he’ll hold his poses just as well as Bats.

The cool news around Dredd (for me anyway) is that Mezco intends to produce his bike as well! That’s right–that prototype on display with the figure isn’t just for atmosphere; they want to get that sweet ride into our hands. The price point and delivery is still under consideration–it could come separately, or in a pack with a variant of the Dredd figure–but they definitely don’t think Dredd should settle for walkin’. [Sorry, Hasbro Ghost Rider 🙁 ]

We asked about the possibility of other characters from Dark Knight Returns and 2000 A.D., and while Mezco would love to get to some of them, their agenda is not about playing in one sandbox for too long at a time. They have a ton of other licenses at their disposal, and they’d like to show what they can do in each of them. One particularly interesting possibility is Star Trek. While there’s nothing specific to announce at the moment, we’re told that world is pretty high on the list of possible One:12 treatments.

And speaking of “What’s coming next?”, Mezco says they’d like to play it a little closer to the vest with future announcements. They want to avoid showing an awesome new prototype and then forcing collectors to wait over a year before they toy hits. So don’t expect another reveal from One:12 until they’ve got something that’s very close to production.

Check out Batman, Judge Dredd and the mutant leader in the images below, along with all the other great product from Mezco.

  1. Those One:12 Collective figures look sick! If I can afford those I would definitely make room on the shelf! What I really want to see is some more updates on their 6 inch MK line. All of the promo pics and these pics looks awesome but can’t wait to see if these will be the equivalent MK line like SOTA and NECA was for Street Fighter?

  2. The Spirit of Vengeance does not need your apology! Save it for the poor imperial biker scout that is loosing his newly necropowered pimped-out ride to the Ghost Rider!
    Muhwah-Ha-ha LOL!!!

  3. Mezco! I need, I DESERVE a Superman, PLEASE give us a Dark Knight Returns Superman before you move to something else, PLEAAAASE!!!
