Bandai: Super Robot Chogokin Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord

That’s one hell of a mouthful. Seriously, say it out loud 10 times in a row. “Bandai’s Super Robot Chogokin Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord.” I think my brain just farted. As part of S.H. Figuarts’ releases of their Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, they also released a Super Robot Chogokin Megazord. Super Robot Chogokin (SRC) is the smaller-scaled, die-cast robot series, similar in style to Soul Of Chogokin (SOC). These robots stand around 5 inches in height instead of 6, and they tend to feature a little bit more articulation.

Megazord is the combined robot made up of the five Dinozords from Power Rangers. Each Ranger piloted one of the 5 Dinozords: Mastodon, piloted by the Black Ranger; Pterodactyl, piloted by the Pink Ranger; Triceratops, piloted by the Blue Ranger; Sabertooth Tiger, piloted by the Yellow Ranger; and Tyrannosaurus, piloted by the Red Ranger. Each Dinozord had special characteristics and had special abilities. They would combine to form the almighty Megazord, piloted by all the Power Rangers from a central cockpit. And they kicked ass.

Megazord does not disappoint. While I was wary of the smaller scale, it wound up not being that big of an issue. The sculpting on this robot is top-notch and he’s a fantastic display piece. Unlike a SOC figure, this one does not transform. The five different ‘bots that make up this robot are fixed and do not separate or transform into their animal forms. This does not take away from the fun or the look of the robot, however. In fact, it makes playing with and posing the robot all the more fun as you don’t have to worry about his falling apart.

The articulation is top-notch on this robot and the number of poses the Megazord can achieve is staggering. This doesn’t come as a surprise, as Bandai has had decades to perfect their robot articulation schemes.

There are a ton of accessories for this robot: hands, weapons, and a little electricity thing that can shoot from his head. The shield and sword fit snugly in the hand and there is no problem with posing the robot with any of the attachments. The hands swap easily, and I haven’t had any issues with pulling the hands on and off.

The robot is a must for your Mighty Morphin Power Rangers display. It looks great with the rest of the S.H. Figuarts selection. You can still get him at:
