Good Smile Company announced the Space Invaders Monster a while back, and I seem to remember a prototype (dang old man memory) but now seeing it in all it’s painted glory?
Is it painted?
Okay, I do believe it does have a gray drybrush, and then there are the eyes that are said to glow in the dark, but you have to turn the eyeballs to reveal the GITD feature?
Basically, I think the whole presentation would have benefited from a brighter setting. Show off that sculpt! Not that it stopped me from pre-ordering. You know me. It’s available for pre-order, will run you about $65, and drops in October.
Even if you’re not into Space Invaders, at about 6.7 inches tall you could use this as some kind of enemy for Hulk or Superman to smash. Eh? Didn’t think about that, did ya?
And for those who need a refresher, like me thinking “These are not what those little dun dun dun dun things making their way to the bottom of the screen to kill me looked like”, this is based on the side panel of the arcade game. This is not the original cabinet but the recently released Arcade1UP replica.
