I’ve admired the Onell Designs Glyos toys for a long time. I have a few, but the smaller scale isn’t really my thing, so when I saw 1000TOYS figures combining their synthetic humans with the Glyos style I had to pick one up. Let’s take a look at Glyosynth Pheyden!
The figure comes on a very nice, old school feeling, large scale card with a a cool character illustration on the front and a “collect them all” graphic on the back. I kind of miss the checklists of available figures on modern card backs, so that was nice to see.
The figure comes with three sets of hands and a removeable forearm cannon that can be swapped out with a regular forearm piece. I do wish he came with some regular weapon holding hands for fun, but I suppose he doesn’t need other weapons with that hand-cannon.
The forearm swap was a little tight, but a little heat facilitated the first switch and it’s been fine since.
One cool feature is the cannon arm can go on the right or left arm. It also has a removeable tip, so you could swap Glyos parts on there if you have them.
The figure is based on the 1000 Toys Synthetic human with Glyos themed new parts including the head, two collar pieces, arms, lower torso, and legs.
I feel like the Glyos and Synthetic Human styles merge really well on this guy.
The collar pieces are loose on the figure, so they can flop around a bit. The articulation is fantastic with:
- Swivel/hinge shoulders, hips, wrists, and ankles
- Ball and socket pecs, head, neck, lower torso, mid-torso, and upper torso
- Double hinged knees and elbows
The thickness of the thighs slightly hinder forward hip movement, but otherwise the figure moves really well. Paint is fairly simple, but really solidly well done.
Overall, I like this figure quite a bit and I feel like he satiates my desire for Glyos figures in my collection really well.
