@fuzzybluedemon

That was 15 years ago, I imagine some new Turtle fans have come along since then.  Or people like me who aren't as diehard may have sold them.  I get the point, and it makes sense, but there's justifiable reason for them.

However, Trevor and Veebs did mention there's other artist renditions they'd like to touch so would expect that first.  If the 4 pack is more Lawson does that make Eastman next?  Or are they too similar.

I am no Mirage expert so curious which other Turtle artists they might highlight for new figures?

15 years sounds like a long time, but not when you factor in how these were bootlegged to death, and readily avaiable almost that whole time (until the last couple of years). The Bootlegs were well done. I have a set and didn't feel the need to replace them.  I looked up the reciept, and it cost $48.50 (including shipping) for a set of four turtles in colored bandanas (It actually only cost me $25.49 due to an Eaby coupon at the time).  NECA would charge around $150 based on their latest release.

So to remake them would not only be a huge investment for NECA, but they would be trying to sell them to a largely satisfied Market that bought them much cheaper.

As someone with the bootlegs, I would actually be interested in seeing NECA rerelease or make new figures of the early Mirage Turtles. Though, that's mainly because the set I got has easily chipped paint and you can see some yellow poking out from the belts, knee pads, and bandannas. Admittedly, I have to imagine I'm in the minority there.

Though, if NECA packed them with accessories I think they might get enough people to double dip since those bootlegs are pretty barebones in that department.

Remember, they're unvaulting things in 35 minutes! Just don't get your hopes up that you'll see the 2008 set. They are gone.

Nothing Turtles this week, just Aliens, and for a few minutes, the Django Unchained dolls for $1000. 🤣

A little worried Leatherhead isn't on there, though...

Trevor confirmed he's coming.  He said he was too big for that checklist.  Expect at least another row (hopefully more) on next year's one!!  And yeah as mentioned Gargoyles is missing a couple on their checklist too.  The Enforcer is badass.

I think there's a lot of people who would want their hands on them now that the line is expanding.  I expect different artists get their time in the sun before returning to Laird though, it's in the mix for the future!  Though could be a long time.

It's funny, because I never really liked Laird's versions nearly as much as Eastman (or Lawson apparently) but now I wish I had them back to have both versions.

What would be an awesome con-exclusive (as long as it's as easy to get as the last handful have been lol) is an "Eastman & Laird First Turtle" two-pack.

The 1/6 ones are cool, but I missed the Eastman, and passed on the Laird because I was missing the Eastman, and now they're both insanely expensive (and not really articulated figures, as far as I understand).

I want that, but not as a Con Exclusive, dammit!

Finally got the Mirage 4-Pack in the UK (Splinter & Savanti on the way as well). Absolutely love them, fantastic figures.

This is definitely my favourite line.

@cmoney Haha, fair enough. I will never WANT the exclusivity of a con exclusive, but I will acknowledge that things like that, Turtle variants, are what should be exclusive, and not unique first time characters like Burne, Irma, Keno, Scrag...

Looks like NECA is going to release their own version of the "first sketch" turtles. Nice to have an alternative to the pricey, larger scale, versions that exist out there:

That's fun. I was sure they would do it eventually.

I'm debating if I need something like that. On the one hand I really like it. On the other It's would just sit there, I would never mess with it.  Maybe I'll compromise and just get Michelangelo (assuming they make more than one). Looks liek the one teased is colored, but a Black/white version that is shaded like the original drawing might be perfect. I might hold out for that. I imagine they might make it exclusive, or a boxset of some kind.

Now that's what I was hoping we'd see. Very, very excited about this.  Though this further makes me think they need to scan/remake those first issue Turtles just so people can have the whole dang collection hah.
