My brother said tjmaxx has over 50 Jayson Tatum figures at the local store. I think TJMaxx/Marshalls tried to distribute to the closest regional market when possible. Living in CT, I never saw anyone except for the Celtic and Sixer in a store or on the CT Facebook group.
Watching 'Home Alone' again during Christmas made me want to dig up my old Starting Lineup figures from the '80s and '90s
So these are hitting Ollie's pretty heavily. I found about 100 Luka, a few trays of Ja, Embiid, and Trae. Has anyone seen Steph, Lebron, Giannis, or Tatum? Just wondering if Ollie's got them because now I want to complete the set. I already had Luka but picked up the other 3 that my Ollie's had. Prices aren't bad on ebay but $7.99 was much better and I may need to hit up a few Ollie's stores if I can find some evidence they are receiving the others too.
I haven't watched an NBA game in almost 30 years. Do these work as bystanders in a display or photos?
Probably not for anyone who has watched an NBA game in the last 30 years.

Went to one of the two Ollie's in the Richmond, Virginia metropolitan area today and I saw the same as you--about a 50 to 100 of Luka and Embiid, and a dozen or two of Trae and Ja all at $7.99. No Tatum, Steph, LeBron, or Giannis.
I wonder if Marshalls paid more for their stock and got the bigger names, leaving Embiid, Ja and the like for Ollie's?
@grumpymatt or Hasbro just sold more of the bigger names so there weren't as many to go around.
Maybe LeBron bought all of his figures because he couldn't stand the idea of them sitting around on discount store shelves tarnishing his brand!

All I ever saw at Marshall's was Trae in my area, and as Justice and I noted Trae is now at Ollie's. I went to four Marshall's and only ever saw one Trae at one of them, so they didn't get much of any of them around here. I'd say Trae is the least popular of the eight figures they made so Marshall's wasn't holding out for just popular players. As is visible on page 1 of this thread others also found Embiid and a slew of LeBrons at Marshall's.
So it seems pretty random. I had never been to Marshall's or Ollie's until these Starting Lineup figures started showing up there, and going to four Marshall's and finding almost nothing was pretty disappointing--so seeing 200+ of them at Ollie's today was quite a rush. 😮
For a while I thought Marshalls and TJ were focusing their stock regionally because I kept finding tons of Tatum and handfuls of Embiid, but recently Lebron, Steph, and Giannis popped up in lower quantities. I'll try to get to Ollie's over the weekend to finish of the set. I saw the hoop is out there too.

Which store has the hoop? I already have it, but I still need Tatum so I'm probably willing to go anywhere he might be. If some Ollie's have it but some don't, then maybe some Ollie's have Tatum too.
@enigmaticclarity I've heard reports that Ollie's has the hoop. It's why I initially went in to look.
Stopped by an Ollie's yesterday looking for the hoop set and they maybe 10 cases piled on a mid-aisle table with Luka, Ja, Embiid and Trae. (Luka and Trae were new to this store). Had a few cases of the hoops as well.
This really, really did not go well for Hasbro.

I am curious how many of these they made at this point and how many sold at the $50 price point. 18 months after launch of the pre-orders, they had to go to deep discounts on their own website, then to Marshalls, and now it appears that Ollie's must have taken on thousands of units.
You can understand this when it is toy line attached to a movie or show which bombs so the merch is unmovable, but this is still the NBA with millions of fans watching, and 750,000+ fans coming to each stadium during a year.
I think the price plus the fact that these were online only had everything to do with the failure of this line. Even if they had been in stores, the digital renders on the boxes are terrible and don't represent the figures well. It would have taken a window to really sell these on the shelves.
I'm upset that this means no figures from other sports. I know they only announced NFL but I was hoping for eventual MLB and NHL too. I have a little wall in my house with a section devoted to my favorite team from each sport and would have loved to have a figure or two to stand on the shelf below the art (KC Chiefs, Atlanta Braves, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars). I got Luka and I know they would have eventually done Mahomes and Kelce and probably Ronald Acuna Jr for the Braves, but the Stars are so under the radar that I doubt any would ever be made into figures anyway, maybe Miro Heiskanen if the line went on long enough.
Oh well. Money saved I guess.
