So thoughts on Night Stalker? Are you going to get it?
Finally it is going up for sale. I know it is a pain being a MC exclusive, but with the current state of Origins at retail it is probably the only way we'll get it released.
I'm definitely getting one and I love the colours. The price is good to considering it is pretty much retail price right? Also considering how hard Stridor shelf warmed at least they didn't try some kind price to make back a bit on that.
One step closer to finishing Origins....
I've stayed away from the vehicles unless they're on deep discount so Night Stalker will be a skip for me. It looks great though.
With SDCC a little over a month away it seems like we should be seeing a reveal of their "exclusive" soon, no? I really hope the rumored Two-Bad is true and that it isn't silly expensive or hard to get online.
I will definitely get Night Stalker. I will get x2. I always love Stridor and Night Stalker. So, now I will have the Vintage, MOTU Classics, and Origins versions of the robotic Horsey's .
As for the SDCC exclusive, if it is indeed Tuvar and Baddrah that connect together to make Two Bad, I imagine it will cost $40-$50.
But if that is the case and you don't feel like spending it, just remember, Mattel should be releasing Two Bad all on its own for the normal $20 (before tax and shipping) on Mattel Creations.
@mikeysee Yeah I'm wondering about Two-Bad myself. Hopefully it is true. However this is following Mattel's sort of recent practices. Little to no communication until the last minute. So I imagine we'll hearing something, but maybe not until July.
I got processing soon e-mails from BBTS about Cartoon Evil Lyn and Webstor. So, it looks like they will be in and shipping soon.
Did anyone grab Night Stalker? I got x2.
Got 1. He's still available 30 minutes later so I guess I didn't need to be in as big of a hurry as I was, but you never know with these things. I still get PTSD from the old Matty Collector white screen of doom.
I forgot he was going up today but happened to see an email come in. I don't need everything from this line anymore but I would've been bummed to not have the two horses to mirror each other on the shelf. I loved those two growing up.
Dumb question - is this an in-stock sale by Mattel or preorder? I'm not actually worried either way, just couldn't find the answer on the page.
I ordered on Night Stalker. This will be my first version of him ever. I don’t have the original or the Classics version.
Snagged a Night Stalker as well.
Usual nonsense ordering from MC as a Canadian.
Nightstalker doesn't do much for me. I'm not really a fan of good guys and bad guys having the same vehicles or rides just in different colors. Don't like it in GIJoe and don't like it in MOTU. I'd only get NS if I also want something else from Creations to save on shipping. I am kinda interested in Masterverse Snout Spout, but both items only sorta tempt me.
They don't really seem to specify any more if these MOTU Origins items are In Stock or pre orders. But the way things have been shipping lately, I'd say Night Stalker will ship very soon. I used to always assume everything was a pre order, but Sy Klone, Rokkon, and Extendar just seemed to ship out almost immediately after the day they went up for sale.
So, even though not specified, I'd say that's what will happen with Night Stalker.

I'm shaking my fist at you, Mattel, and the sky.....in faux anger (haha).
I'm still waiting for Extendar to ship....ggrrr.....
Same thing happened with Rokkon and Sy-Klone. Lots of people got their orders right quick, but I had to wait a couple months. Oh the joy of ordering from MC while being in Canada.
Anyway, yeah it seems like MC has hit a groove where they put things up for (pre)order fairly close to having them in hand so they can get them out quickly.
So who, or what is next? We still haven't had any word on Lady Slither's Lair/Snake Men Castle. Figure wise I am hoping for Modulok, Rio Blast, Blast Attak, Dragstor, or Multi-bot. I would say Two Bad but I am still waiting to see if he'll be at SDCC.
I could have sworn I posted about this already but I got Extendar a couple weeks ago and I like him a lot. If I'm being completely honest, I would have preferred they just used the design of the figures to incorporate all of his separate extensions rather than having his head and torso actually pull to extend. I don't love that decision, and I do think the overall silhouette of the figure suffers.
But... it's Extendar - one of my favorite heroic warriors. I like him a lot and I'm super glad to have him. That being said, this line has gotten prohibitively expensive if you live outside the US, so I don't think I'll be buying anything else except Rio Blast, Two-Bad (if he's not an overpriced exclusive), and the giants/turbodactyl if they ever make those. I'd LIKE to get Demo-Man, and Vikor, and several other as yet unmade/unannounced characters, but I just don't see it really being worthwhile if they're going to keep up with this bullshit single-release schedule. I have no interest in paying a separate shipping charge every single time they decide to release an Origins figure.
I'll probably still grab a few Cartoon Collection figures here and there, but even those are at a price point where I don't feel the need to get them all. Plus, they screwed up Evil-Lyn so the idea of a 'complete' set already goes out the window anyway.
Speaking of... I also got Mer-Man and Adam/Cringer from BBTS. LOVE them. The cartoon look has always been my favorite version of Mer-Man for reasons I cannot quite articulate. Cringer is a truly great figure considering how they could have done him and everyone would have accepted it. Hell, I maintain that the Adam/Cringer two-pack, at MSRP, is a legitimately great deal these days.
Also worth noting is that we didn't JUST get a properly-articulated sword hand, it's the BEST hand in the entire Origins-style line. No other figure holds their accessory this securely. I wish all MOTUO figures could hold their accessories like this. It's wonderful. You can swing Adam around by the blade of the sword. Mattel - do this, but on everything.
In fact, this hand is so good that it made me even SADDER that you can't use it on He-Man because of the skin tone difference. What a shame. I want Mattel to release a pack of these hands to match all the previously-released Origins-style He-Mans. The Cartoon line has been pretty damn solid from the start, but I think this Adam/Cringer set might be the best so far.
Still no She-Ra or Swiftwind.
Boo.
