I hope I can get that split Two-Bad.

I have about equal affinity to Rio Blast as I do Extendar, which is lukewarm. But I’d get him because he’s the next best thing to a Buttons McBoomBoom I’m sure I’ll never own.

I'm in the same boat.  I really hope there is a way for international buyers to get the rumoured Two-Bad if he is a SDCC exclusive.

I'm also lukewarm on Extendar, and probably even less so on Rio Blast.  Honestly even the remaining figures that should get done aren't big wants for me.  I'm probably most interested in a Modulok, but after that I'm kind of "meh" about the rest.  Maybe Blast-Attak and Multi-bot would be the most interesting to me.

I got Cartoon/Filmation Mer-Man and Stratos in the mail.  These 2 look great, just like the rest of this line.  I remember when these Cartoon/Filmation figures were announced, I came just a hair of not getting the Cartoon figures since the rest of the Origins Collection is not Cartoon expired, and I have all the MOTU Classics Filmation figures.

But I'm so glad I decided to get these.  They are some of the best-looking MOTU figures ever.

I am so excited about the Cringer and Adam pack.  That is my most anticipated set this year.

It looked like Mattel Creations had new stuff like Adam/Cringer and the Collector ship in stock. Adam is sold out now, but the ship might still be available.

My wife ordered Extendar for me today. I was super busy with work and there was no way I could sit in front of my computer to do it myself. She's a good woman. Poor thing had to deal with the MattyCollector-style white screen of death a bit, and a Captcha that refused to load so she had to keep starting over. But eventually the order went through.
Not thrilled with the final price to get one stupid figure to Canada - but I'm gonna deal with it for the final two releases of this line I really need (Rio and Two-Bad) and call it a collection.

Yep I would say that you must be doing something wrong when not just international buyers, but US based buyers are complaining about the trickle of releases resulting in everyone having to pay shipping over and over again.  However it seems to be another situation of complaints falling on deaf ears since it doesn't look like Mattel/Creations is going to change how they release these figures.

I mean.. why would they care about some Internet whining? They're close enough to the end now that they KNOW people are just going to buy them no matter what, because 99% of collectors aren't going to skip the last six or whatever figures they need to have a complete collection just as a form of protest or performative outrage. They'll bitch and complain and pay. And that last part is all Mattel cares about.

And I include myself in that. I bought the stupid Extendar, after all. Just like Mattel knew I would.

It's short-sighted, though. In my opinion. Because I will remember how few shits they gave about collectors when the next line starts up and I'm considering whether I need a NEW collection of He-Man figures. Or any other Mattel property. Think I'm getting Street Sharks? I'm not. Did I basically stop buying any Masterverse that aren't from the movie? I did. Am I going all-in on Cartoon Collection? I'm not. Did I basically quit buying TMNT X MOTU? I did. That's all on Mattel and how they treat their customers. Good job, fellas.

Excited about Adam/Cringer, though. Mer-Man is in my POL and I'll probably ship once Adam hits because I'm pretty excited for that set.

@theknightdamien

Not to mention basically abandoning the Canadian market (at retail) as well.

As I posted before I'm not super excited for much anymore in the Origins line outside of a couple figures.  The rest are probably only going to be buys to have as options for later trades/sales if need be.

It's so interesting -  because I truly detest the Filmation series figure designs.   They look so doofy... so cartoony compared to the regular figures and I just do NOT like that aesthetic.    I didn't like it in Classics/Ultimates and I don't like it here.      I didn't watch the cartoon growing up,  so my love for the franchise isn't tied to nostalgia for the show.

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the cartoon,  but I don't like my modern figures trying to look exactly like animation from 40 years ago.  And that's true of any property, not just MOTU.

If there were modern figures trying to look exactly like the designs from the Ralph Bakshi Spider-Man cartoons I would pass on those too.    In fact,  I have passed on the Spider-Man VHS sets that look too much like the 90's cartoon for the exact same reason.

Luckily there's plenty of other non-animated inspired MOTU product for me to still patronize.  And I'm happy for the people digging the current toon-based product.    I'm glad they are - finally -  getting something they may have wanted for years and years.

Boo to this man!

 ❤️ 😝

Unless you were booing the part where I say I'm happy for the people that want this - if that's the part you're booing then you're a monster

Has anyone else noticed all the character specific merchandise they put up on Mattel Creations with the Extendar figure?  It is practically hidden on the site and I never noticed until I saw a Reddit post about it.  There are some cool vintage inspired designs on some Extendar merchandise (mugs, totes, hoodies, t-shirts).  If they did this for all of the other characters I'd probably be out some dough.

I already received Extendar. He is a BEEFY figure. Like Rokkon, but indexed in the other direction. I guess it's to accommodate the built in extensions in his torso. A thick one extends his waist/abs, and a thin one extends his neck. I'm guessing that internally, the neck telescopes into the ab extension. I don't know if that was the case on the vintage figure or the Classics, as this is my very first experience with Extendar as a toy.

He only comes with four extensions for his limbs, but they're compatible with any limb. Two short straight extensions, and two longer curved extensions. I could have sworn he came with more, but at least nothing is getting dumped in a parts bin when I've got him fully extended (which will be the majority of the time, or forever).

My copy arrived in a beat up mailer, and once I opened, I immediately saw the clamshell was cracked open on the bottom. It doesn't look like anything fell out, but man, I'd be pissed if I planned on keeping this one carded. I'm actually surprised it didn't come in deluxe packaging like Sy-Klone or Moss Man. Instead it came in the kind of clamshell where the cardback can slide in and out of it like a sleeve. Again, cool for anyone keeping the package, but mine is donezo so I've already recycled it.

Again, this is my first experience with the character, and I must not have been paying close attention, but I didn't realize his face looked like this. He's got some metal thing covering his chin and mouth. I don't love it, because it doesn't look like any of the art.

Anyway, I'm glad to have the figure, but it would not have been the end of the world if I missed it. I hope people who are fond of this guy are impressed or at least satisfied with it.

@supercamel-1982 I believe some people received Sy-Klone just as quickly. The Mattel distribution center appears to be in Northampton PA. At least that’s what my tracking origin states. I’m in NJ.

Yeah that seems to be a bit of a weird choice.   Nothing against Extendar, but they have a number of more popular characters (MOTU) that they could go in on for merchandise that would sell really well.

However they did the same with Sy-Klone so maybe it is something new where they are trying to market merch to coincide with the preorder drops?

I got Extendar today!  Not as fast as NORM, but pretty damn fast.  Really fun figure, very nice packaging, and I'm so happy to have him.  The 3 we've got this year in Extendar, Rokkon, and Sy-Klone were so important to me.  If something had or would happen where for some insane reason we couldn't finish the vintage collection, I really wanted those 3 characters and Two Bad AT LEAST.  And if rumors are true, we should get Two Bad this year as well.

Surely, we'll be able to finish the vintage collection with only 13 to go.  But I'm glad to have all these secured from this year.

I wonder when Night Stalker will go up?  I will be happy to get him too, so we have both robotic horses.

@supercamel-1982 I completely forgot about Night Stalker.  What ever happened?

As for the remaining figures I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.  I am sure we'll get most of them, but it is Mattel (Creations) and I am going to worry right until they finish them off.
