@canprime The CM Punk figure has a disclaimer at the bottom of the description in line with the issue you mentioned. I think I waited about 10 months for Grizzlor. Better to have him later than others, than not have him at all, but I guess the extra run wasn't worth it to Mattel.
After the sale window ends, all orders are final. The made-to-order item’s expected ship date will be displayed on the item’s product page in our online shop, and may be up to a year from your order date. You will be notified before your order ships, and provided with instructions if you need to update your shipping address. If the expected shipping date changes, and the revised date is more than 30 days after the original expected shipment date, you’ll be notified of the new expected shipping date and have the opportunity to request a refund if desired.
Which is always the conundrum right?
I hate having to fight to order stuff as a Canadian collector, but in the end is it better to have the toy than not? In most cases I would say yes, even if the wait is a long time. As I said in my last post Mattel probably has found their sweet spot for MOQ on Origins figures now so why bother doing more and risk having overstock they would have to warehouse and probably sell at a discount later.
I picked up the Rulers of the Sun 3pk on sale for $30 this week at Target. They’re all fodder, but that’s a reasonable price.
Which Brick n Mortar stores are getting the Cartoon Collection?
Because Mattel is, historically, a company that hates making money so much that they will actively sabotage anything that does well
Oh really?
This is a Mattel Creations question, but I'm asking it here since the order has to do with a MOTU Origins order. But has anyone ever had to change their address on an existing order before it shipped?
Like did anyone have to do that for the Eternia Playset or anything? I just wondered how you did it?
I see where in your addresses/address book you can add a new address and make it your default. If you do that, does it change your outstanding orders automatically to that new default address, or does more need done?
I'm not sure where I read it, but has anyone else heard that Extendar will not have his vintage action feature? They're going to Mekaneck route instead, at least that's what's rumored. If that's the case, I think I'll just pay a bit extra for a vintage one in good condition. I didn't mind as much for Mekaneck, but Extendar's feature is in his name, so I expect it to be there.
@valor I mean.. yeah, the 'makes the articulation/functionality not work' action features are not part of this line. The same way Mekaneck and Rattlor have add-on necks to replicate the action figure, so does Extendar have add-on pieces for his action feature. Just like Classics.
Only my opinion but I'm very glad they've gone this route. I think the action features just ruin the playability of a figure. And when they can be easily replicated with stuff that doesn't make the toy less playable, it seems like the best of both worlds. Extendar is one of my favorite characters, and I found the Classics version a huge improvement over the vintage toy with the exception of Mattel using that super flimsy, soft plastic. But Classics Extendar isn't the only victim of wimpy plastic in 2010s collector action figures, that's for sure.
@valor The Manchild has a review up on youtube - extendo bits are all pop and swap. Figure looks pretty good regardless
I picked up the Rulers of the Sun 3pk on sale for $30 this week at Target. They’re all fodder, but that’s a reasonable price.
Not for me they aren't... gotta go find them for that price.
Yup, I’m also glad they went with removable extensions for Extendar, as opposed to an “action feature”. I definitely remember playing the hell out of my Extendar’s extending limbs as a kid, and yet even then I would have traded articulation for the feature. The Classics figure was fun to pose, and the Origins figure will probably be even more fun and durable. I’m stoked.
The reveals today were pretty good. I'm definitely in for all of it. Some are saying that Reptilax and Vypor are Fan Channel Exclusives, and not simply Mattel Creations exclusives. Which I hope is true. Ordering these at BBTS and EE would be much easier. It also lines up with what Mattel said last year that some Snake men would be Fan Channel Exclusives.
But the Crimson Horde Trooper being Wal-Mart exclusive sucks beyond sucktitude.
But all the Cartoon Collection stuff looked really nice. Cringer and Adam I will get x2. Such a great set.
Looking forward to any cartoon related figures. Besides that, not much else interests me.
@supercamel-1982 The TMNTxGrayskull stuff looked pretty great. Too bad in Canada, right now anyway, the only way to get them is through online retailers. So even if I was inclined to collect the line it is too pricey and difficult to get. However that Mer-Man is @#$%ing incredible!!!!! Definite winner of the TMNTxGrayskull reveals.
As for the Filmation stuff. Everything looks great, as usual. The Collector is great!!! I can't believe it will hold 3 figures. I thought for sure it would be just 1 figure. Either way awesome new vehicle!!!
The Horde Trooper Prime set is AMAZING!!! I love the colours and a HOVER BOT!!!! Too bad about it being a Walmart exclusive. Not only for you guys because of how bad Walmart (US) has been, but even worse for us in Canada. Walmart Canada hasn't carried any of the last couple years MOTU:O exclusives (Moss Man, Duplico, Terroar et al.). So I won't be getting any of the Walmart exclusive reveals even if I wanted to get them.
It's funny the stuff that excites people. The three things I'm stoked for of these upcoming reveals are Reptillax, Vypor and that crazy 3-seater UFO.
I'm still sad that Classics didn't last long enough to crank out all those awesome Axel Gimenez designed snake men and other characters. But, happy to get to add them to the collection in some capacity.
I wasn't sure I wanted to buy the cartoon versions but dangit I picked a few up and the are so well made I'm just all in for them now. I really need to cut back. Even if I weren't buying them in general, I'd be all over that Adam and Cringer set though, that's the cringer I wanted as a kid! (That's really what this line does so well, isn't it? Giving us the what we wanted as kids?)
Too many figures all at once tomorrow for me I think, so I'll focus on the must haves, though holy heck there's a LOT of good stuff.
