The Cartoon Collection is showing up in stores with the She-Ra rerelease included, so I wouldn’t say it’s online only, it’s just been rebranded. The specific figures that made up the original series may be online only.
My 'toon collection Teela showed up the other day. She's pretty great. Crazy how her face looks better than what was done in a larger, more 'collector-focused' line. Still not sure why toy companies struggle so much to match the inner hand diameter to the weapon handle diameter as if they are not solely and entirely responsible for literally both things. That is to say..why is the handle of her sword so big?
Also, while I know it's not really a thing for this line, a little clear stand for the robot would have been excellent. Still, I love her. She's great. Her being a bit too short doesn't bother me NEARLY as much as all the female figures in Classics being taller than all the male characters. That was weird.
I definitely wish these were easier to get in Canada. The few Canadian toy retailers that carry them like ToySnowman sell through pretty quickly because there's just so few of them catering to all of us since you can't get these at Walmart or TRU up here. And the price increases have made buying them from US retailers and shipping them kind of obnoxious.
Aaanyway.. looking forward to 'toon Tri-Klops and Mer-Man. Definitely need to grab those two.
I grabbed both Terroar and Gr'asp in a weak moment of "buy now, decide later". I do want Gr'asp but I still think Terroar looks like the sort of thing a first grader would create with a bunch of mix-n-match parts. I needed the free shipping though and I can just return Terroar to the store later if I decide he's not worth the $19.
Well I wanted both and they sold out already.
Yikes. Got them all in my cart at 7, wouldn’t let me buy any. All immediately sold out.
Did these all sell out super fast today? I COMPLETELY forgot they were going on sale and missed out on all of the MOTU stuff.
@KnightDamien - opened my Teela yesterday as well and totally agree, she's fantastic. You did startle me for a minute thinking I'd missed a flight stand for the robot cos I misread your post 🙂 I didn't think I needed the cartoon versions but I've really liked them all so far.

I've seen people saying less than a minute. I know for sure less than 3 minutes because that's when I went looking LOL
Man. If this is the routine for exclusives no one asked for, getting those last figures from the original line is going to be a nightmare shitshow.
@jonaskane It doesn't make missing out entirely much better, but I feel like less of an idiot if they sold out in 90 seconds and I didn't remember about it until five hours later than if I'd remembered two minutes too late. Fortunately at least for me these were nice to haves rather than essentials. (I'll definitely still grab them if they go back up for sale later in any event.)
I assume that they plan on releasing all of the figures that were on the Eternia playset box art, so that is good for collectors of this line.
Releasing, probably. The method by which they'll release them, completely unreliable, unnecessarily difficult, possibly impossible, inevitably infuriating.
I was very lucky and got Terroar and Gr'Asp pre ordered. But I HATE when there are Wal-Mart MOTU Exclusives, and I HATE how Mattel and Wal-Mart handle them. They make it so hard for everyone to easily get these figures that they want. Duplico was a nightmare, these two today caused everyone trouble, and it makes you scared of "what's next?"
Moss Man is the only one they seemed to handle fairly well. I assume Terroar and Gr'Asp will go back up on the site, but for how long. And then, will they show up in stores? If they show up fairly easily in stores, at least that will be an option and the prices will go down on Ebay. But what if they handle the 2 exclusives today and future exclusives like Duplico?
Mattel and Wal-Mart need to get this all worked out a bit better.
I really hope Terroar and Gr'Asp are pretty easy to find at retail.

Is Duplico different to Dupli-Cat? I noticed that the pack with him and Faker are going for a lot of money on the after market.

Yes - Duplico is a Rulers of the Sun character - he's sort of the Sun Man version of Faker (he's the only white character in the Rulers of the Sun sub-line) and was a Wal Mart exclusive with messed up distribution.
Dupli-Cat was a Power-Con exclusive "Faker" version of Battle Cat painted blue and orange with some silver "cybernetic" paint on the face and claw covers. It came boxed with a Faker repaint. Since it was only available to attendees at Power Con and in very limited numbers on Mattel's website it was not widely available and now resells for a significant price on the after market.
I really wonder if Mattel legitimately hates their International customers. First they don't let you buy anything from them at all, and when they do they're releasing one figure at a time, literally WEEKS apart from each other, just to make sure Int. folks get hammered on shipping charges.
What a bunch of absolute cunts.
