I hope the remaining Origins figures are released in waves of 4.  I know that's high hopes, considering they've been releasing Creations figures in drops of 1.    Preorders for waves of 4 would just be so much better.   Have some in-stock and then a preorder window for more.  Or just straight up preorder windows.  I don't want all remaining 16 characters/figures, but maybe even selling them as sets of 4 would help sales.

I wish they'd do something like that to, at least for more basic figures.  I can see maybe not selling Deluxe items in groups like Multi Bot, or Modulok.  But do a movie Wave with Gwildor, Blade, and Saurod.

Then do a Heroes Wave with Sy-Klone, Extendar, Stonedar, and Rio Blast.

Then do a Villains Wave with Hurricane Hordak, Blast Attack, Dragstor, and Two Bad.

Then sell Rotar and Twistoid together.

I wish they would have done Rokkon and Stonedar together.  But I have a feeling they will literally do everything one at a time.

It's crazy what Eternia is selling for on the after market already.  Obviously as more arrive and there is more supply the price will go down but with only about 9000 made this has potential to be real expensive down the road.  Since I've barely opened any of the Origins I bought at a manic pace trying to play catch up in anticipation of this, I'm definitely keeping this and the rest of the collection sealed for a while.  As cool as it is, if it could pay for a super 7 snake mountain and then some I really should try to have only one motu collection.

@thevision57 I figure Eternia is going to go the route of The Khetanna and Unicron.  Prices are already high, there might be a slight dip in the short term, but by this time next year I won't be shocked to see it close to $2000US.

Much like The Khetanna and Unicron there are not a lot of these made, so it will be a sellers market.  Even more so if you have King Grayskull as well to go with it, and it's still sealed!!!

There are already sets that are damaged due to weather or poor handling (mostly just the boxes).  So that will reduce the number of MISB sets.  Then there are the numbers that will get opened by backers.  On top of that reduce the number further for those who sold off the King Grayskull to help pay for Eternia.

So total units sold were 9,291.  Something like 8,000 units got sold with King Grayskull.  I would imagine that out of the total number of units sold (9,291) after all is said and done there will be maybe 6,500 (approx) sealed ones still available.  And that might be a bit high.  I would then further drop that number of units with a King Grayskull still sealed.  So I would hazard a completely out of left field guess that maybe 4,000 units will be still sealed with a sealed King Grayskull this time next year.

Considering The Khetanna and Unicron both sell easily over $2000US (sealed) now, a sealed Eternia with a sealed King Grayskull should easily get up to that level.

I got my Eternia Playset today and..........damn.  I was not prepared for the size of this thing.  The box this thing comes in is huge.  Even my cat looked at it and was like "f*** that!"

I'm so happy to have this thing, but man, it takes up some real-estate.

Man, hours after I got my Eternia playset, with no warning, or e-mail from Mattel or tracking confirmation I got my King Grayskull figure.

So, I am complete.  Still, I cannot believe how big this playset is.  It's almost ridiculous.

So awkward that they just ship it in a box saying what it is on the outside. Especially when the box is this big. Toy companies need to learn a lesson from adult "toy" companies and use discrete packaging.

I'm going to hold you to that prediction @canprime  If my sealed set isn't worth $2k next year I'm going to PM you right in your PM box!

Still no tracking or boxes on my porch yet, but that's absolutely fine.  I'm not ready to face this 2022 decision yet.

How does the box size compare to the HISS?  We need some pics!  I've seen plenty of confirmations of receipt but it doesn't seem like anyone is playing with this thing.

@mikeysee HAHA.

Of course hold me to that, but just post it here in public for everyone to see.  That way I can bask in the glory of being right.  Or hide in shame from the jabs and barbs from being wrong.  LOL.

Another way to look at it is also look at the after market of some of the other rare exclusives for MOTU.  I have the Power Con Faker w/Dupli-Cat and that is going for triple (minimum) it's original asking price.  The Horde 4-pack from that same Power Con is at least double it's original asking price.  The Mysteries of Grayskull set is at least triple.

Not to mention Classics figures and sets (Snake Mountain, Castle Grayskull, etc. etc.)  A bunch of those fetch hefty markups on the secondary market.

Eternia?  Please.  It makes pretty much all of these pale in comparison for fan desire and rarity.  The weird part is King Grayskull.  Because of how they offered him, there is already a smaller amount of Eternias that can be considered "complete" due to not having been backed in time to get King Grayskull included.

I just hope, in addition to actually getting the rest of the vintage figures, Mattel puts some priority on getting King Grayskull to those that weren't willing to drop hundreds of dollars for a giant playset. Also wouldn't mind seeing a few more Revelation/Revolution designs translated into Origins.

I would LOVE an Origins Vikor. That'd be loads of fun.

I got my Eternia yesterday but wanted to wait until tonight to open it.  This box is huge.  It took me a good 2 hours to assemble it (a lot of screws to put in) and there were two huge sticker sheets.  Nothing like sticker anxiety on something this expensive.  Trying to get them all in the proper spots was a challenge.  Sorry, I don't know how to do pictures on this new Fwoosh.  Used to be easy on Tapatalk but I don't have an account anywhere that hosts photos to do them now.

I have no idea where I'm going to put this thing.  This size comparison pictures with figures didn't accurately paint a picture in my mind of how huge it really was going to be.

I never even knew the Eternia playset existed back in the 80s but for some reason watching the monorail drive around by itself triggers an odd childhood nostalgia in me.  I've got to wonder how long those batteries will last though, as it has to do a lot of climbing.

If they plan on selling Rokkon this Friday I'd expect an announcement by now, no?

My Eternia Playset arrived on Friday.  There's a part of me that is full of 1987 glee. 🙂  The rest of me is trying to figure out where in the world I'm going to put this thing.

I'm so in for Rokkon. Such a dumb figure but a dumb figure I LOVED as a kid and will absolutely be buying him. I agree with the folks that mentioned the extra cost with Mattel Creations for shipping, not crazy about that and really, I'd buy some of those four-pack ideas folks posted already just to pay for shipping once. I'd happily preorder full waves that way (though BBTS has been reliable for the retail stuff and I'll keep giving them my business).

A little late to the party, but the Moat Monster was the thing that gave me FOMO with Eternia, and I definitely get that there should be exclusives like that for that kind of project... but hey, if they ever released a funky paint job re-release of him a few years from now, I'd buy it. Just sayin'. (Actually thinking about some of the stuff I've funded from Hasbro and if I'd be annoyed if the exclusives were made available later and the funny thing is I wouldn't be mad other people got the figure... I'd be less likely to back massive projects in the future in the hopes the smaller exclusive bits would be released separately later, cos with the big crowdfunded stuff I've bought it's the SPACE to store them that wrecks me...)

I hope they still make Keclar available at some point on Creations, we were less than 1K away from getting him, I’d be happy to pay 20 to get him anyway.
