Yeah I've been wondering about that as well.  They don't seem to be in any hurry to get those remaining figures out to us do they?

Yeah, I really thought we'd get one last Mattel Creations figure this year, and I thought maybe it would be Sy-Klone.  Instead, nothing.  Which is also ok.  This time of year is expensive.

I did see that it's likely next year that 2 Snake Men will be Fan Channel figures. Sold places like BBTS and EE.  And they are Vypor and Reptilax.  Which were new Snake Men made like Fang-Or during the MOTU Classics era that never got Classics figures (like Lady Slither).

I am definitely in for both.

Dammit... Vypor and Reptillax will get me to buy ...  even though they won't sell me a Lady Slither.    I feel like anything that sold out instantly on day one should maybe get revisited.

Has anyone in Canada even seen the Filmation Origins "Cartoon Collection" figures at retail? If so...where? I keep hoping to see them pop up and I never do.

Or are Canadians doomed to have to buy these online through secondary sites?

They sure have gone in hard on the Snake Men.  I get that they're cool looking and all but the display would be quite lopsided if you got everything.

Personally I'm over here not-so-patiently waiting for even an announcement of Two Bad.  I'm sure he's coming but he's a pretty big character to have been pushed to so late in the line.

Mattel sent out an Eternia update and the email included this pic

That hurts a little bit.

@theknightdamien Yeah I'm a bit surprised as well.  You would think they would try for one more kick at the can before the end of the year.  Oh well I'm sure we'll see a good amount of product soon enough.  My wallet could use the break anyway.

Sorry but...why do my posts all seem to say "awaiting moderation"? Confused.

Just so everyone knows, Point Dread and the Talon Fighter are only $15.19 on Amazon right now.  A great price for this vehicle and playset.

According to Toy Habits who are usually pretty accurate, the following are in the works:

Wave 3 Turtles of Grayskull:

Michaelangelo

Teela

Skeletor

Casey Jones

Deluxe Splinter (Target exclusive)

Deluxe Leatherhead (Walmart exclusive)

Also according to the upcoming Kings of the Snake Men book, Red Shadow, Toxoid, High Priest Pythonus and an unnamed red Snake Man with a flared cobra head and Lady Slither snake lower body are potentially coming in 2024, it doesn’t say Origins specifically but it seems more probable than Masterverse, and that’s in addition to the previously mentioned Reptilax and Vypor. They’ve all been teased on card art for various figures, but I would take it as a possibility until something official is announced.

It's pretty concerning that none of the 'leaks' of upcoming product are for the missing vintage characters.

My Snake Mountain arrived today and it's... glorious. Just the right mix of sweet, sweet nostalgia with fun, new features. I wasn't actually going to open it today, because I'm super busy with work and stuff leading into taking a week off for the holidays. But my son was so excited when it showed up and was hovering around me. I even got the sweetest 'dad, can I ask you a question?'  I said 'of course, buddy, what's up?' And there it was "when are you going to open Snake Mountain?'
So I had to do it. And he loves it. He said it's even better than Castle Grayskull.

It really is great. AND Ninjor hit my POL today. MOTU double-whammy. Not to bang on about it, but I just really hope those last vintage characters are coming sooner than later. Really need an Extendar and Rio Blast, at least. And I'd love to see Origins versions of the Laser Light figures and the giants. And I need a friggin' re-release of Orko. What the hell is the hold up on that.

I too am bummed there's no word regarding the vintage Origins we know are coming. Mattel's focus is the CC, Masterverse, and the ToG at the moment. I've been looking hard at vintage Moduloks on eBay because I'm starting to think we may not actually get all of the remaining vintage characters. This is Mattel, after all. I feel Modulok can fit with Origins a bit better than most other vintage figures.

Has anyone found the CC figures at retail yet?

I forgot to mention that both She-Ra and Bow are supposedly coming to the CC. But the supposed leaks are all for either separate lines like Turtles Of Grayskull, or Fan Channel type releases, so I wouldn’t take their existence as an impediment to the rest of the vintage line being made. If I had to guess, I’d say the next year or more’s Mattel Creations exclusives will all be vintage releases. The only one that puzzles me a bit is Two-Bad, I feel like not doing him at retail is a mistake, but maybe they have a plan I’m not privy to.

I would just be patient on Origins figures in 2024.  Mattel Creations isn't the greatest at giving us a heads up about upcoming releases/exclusives.  I imagine we will see at least 6 of them in 2024 (one every other month), or maybe every quarter.

That doesn't include other stuff they may put up for preorder/crowdfund (Snake's Lair).

Plus they are putting out reissues of older Origins figures, both on their own and in the new CC line.  One of my local retailers has a wave coming with Webstor, Ninjor, King Randor and Mini-comic Trapjaw.  Then of  course they just announced Orko and Filmation Evil-Lyn are going to be reissued as part of wave 4(?) of the CC line.

Hopefully we get a decent number of figures or 2 packs in 2024 to go toward finishing the vintage MOTU Collection.   It definitely seems like from what I've seen that these new, first time Snake Men will be more of a fan channel thing (EE, BBTS, etc.)  So, between Fan Channel Snake Men and Mattel Creations Vintage MOTU Collection, on top of all the retail stuff, we should get a pretty decent amount of MOTU Origins product next year.

I haven't seen any of the Cartoon Collection at retail myself Val-Or.  Maybe others have, but nothing on my end in my tri state are.  I have Wave one, but it's from BBTS.

Hopefully they start showing up soon.  It's just about time for Wave 2 to start shipping.
