I keep thinking I need to cut back on this line cos I've got most of the characters I need, but I really do like most of those designs a lot, especially the Turtles. Not sure I dig Ram Man for Raph. I'd almost rather see him mixed up with Beast Man maybe? Fisto? (Will I ever type that name without laughing? Never). Stratos doesn't make immediate sense but visually would be cool to see. Would love to see April/Teela mashup and wondering if we'll get Splinter.

I feel like Sy-Clone is a perfect mashup for Mikey but that borders on a reach.

Something crazy happened today.  I went to Target in search of a Target Exclusive, they had it, and I bought it.

Thats it.   Thats the story.

Amazing, right?  I couldn't believe it, because it so rarely happens.

But I went hoping to find the new Rulers of the Sun 3 Pack, and they actually had it.

Man-At-Arms' helmet looks a little like Chrome Dome's to me.

And that He-Man, is he supposed to be Faker and Slash mashed up? Both would work as evil versions of the hero, so he'd make more sense to me as Slash/Faker. Slaker? Fash?

So far, seems like the TMNT are mashed up with a figure, and the MOTU figures are just kind of inspired by TMNT? Like Trap Jaw is a mash up with a Mouser, but then He-Man is just mutagenized, and MAA is MAA with a turtle shell inspired shoulder pad and shield and a general redesign. According to the news release,

"The partnership between Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles allows fans to create new storytelling moments with the Turtles of Grayskull line which outfits characters including Leonardo and Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo with Eternian-style battle gear, and He-Man from Masters of the Universe will battle his Mutagen Mutation while Skeletor will don Turtle-inspired Armor. I don't love Ram-man for Raph either, so it'll be interested to see where they go with it. I was gonna suggest Fisto too. Apparently in the old leaked photos from this spring, Mikey was Battlecat inspired, which sounds cool. Sy-clone is a good choice as well. No April in the announcement line-up poster. Probably didn't want to work around putting her in a skimpy outfit.

And here's the announcement picture:

We know MOTU origins is released in 4 figure waves, and they've suggested there will be 16 figures, and have shown 6. So how these actually get released is anyone's guess at this point.

I love mash ups BUT not really feeling the MOTU and TMNT mash ups by mattel. saw the first 6 figures and they are bad, kinda looks like a kiddie line. would have to see the other ones to make a decision but i doubt ill get em'.

(Good idea, bad execution)

Do we know for sure Raph is being mashed up with Ram-Man? Seems like the turtles are being combined with heroes, not villains, so that doesn't really make sense to me. Either way, I haven't bought a MOTU figure since the New Adventures era. It was just never my thing as a kid, blame the movie sucking so bad, I guess. I like some of these though, at least enough to get another set of turtles which can go on my MMPRxTMNT shelf which has plenty of room. I'll pick and choose on the rest. That Trap-Jaw outfitted with Mouser bits is a great design that I don't know if I can pass up, same for the Krang. a Ram-Man mixed with Rocksteady might be cool, though Beast Man and Bebop feels too easy.

You...uh...you know Ram Man is a hero, right?  🙂

I think these mashups are pretty cool.  The only one Im not really feeling is Trap-Jaw at the moment, but I will most likely grab them all if they're easily obtainable.

@jonaskane nope. Like I said, I haven't paid any attention to MOTU since the New Adventures era, I was just going off of the image KarlSpace posted above which placed him among other villains.

As others have intimated, I fucking LOVE those crossover figures. No notes (except I hate Leo's swords). They look fantastic and in at least a few cases pretty damn clever as well (making Krang Megator, and the Mouser Trap-Jaw). Very excited to get all of those. And equally excited to see what wave 2 will look like. MOTU-ized Casey Jones? Yes please.

If you look at them closely, they're 2 half katana type blades that form a combined power sword type blade. Quite ingenious to me.

It looks like Mouse-Trap (such a missed opportunity for that name to be used officially for Trap-Jaw) looks to have 2 Mouser legs on his belt, so I assume you can have an articulated Mouser if you remove it from him.

I'm loving these so far. Depending on price and where they're sold, I might be all in on these.

Packaging shots are up. Looks great. Looks like wave 1 is Leo, He-man, Donatello, Man at arms. Maybe Krang and Tri-clops are deluxe?

Love the Shredder design, with how they mixed the Foot Clan logo into the Skeletor style chestplate.

Yeah, I like the look of Shredder for this crossover based on that art.  And SalemCrow, that was genius!  Not calling Mouser Trap Jaw "Mouse-Trap" was the biggest missed opportunity in history.  On this planet or any other.

Honestly, this crossover is so f***** stupid!  But in some idiot savant genius way, that's the beauty of it.  They have no business being together, but they were the two driving forces of the 80's/90's toy world.

They were my 2 favorite things as a kid.  And even though they don't belong, the figures look really fun.

Yeah, I think this crossover is kinda farfetched, grasping for connections. But fun nonetheless. TMNT in a techno-barbarian universe makes for fun ideas. Mutated techno-barbarians also seems fun. These molds are fun, and squeezing the Turtles property into them should also be fun. But I'm betting they're $20 a pop, and I REALLY don't need to start yet another collection. I already spend so much on every other line! SO MANY other lines. It might be best if I didn't jump on.

Anyone looking for the Rulers of the Sun three pack, do not go by the Target app, I bought one today at my local and just checked the app again and it still shows they’re not available for shipping or pick up, so something is disconnected somewhere.
