Hopefully, they'll surprise us and have the Snake Lair at a more reasonable price.  I'm sure it'll be higher price than Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain, since it'll be produced in much lower quantities.  That's understandable.   Ideally it would be in the same size and format as those two playsets, so it will be interesting to see how it's priced.   I'm kinda interested in it, since I've grown to love the Snakemen as a faction.  I didn't buy the Origins Castle Greyskull, since I have the Classics version.  And I skipped Snake Mountain, since frankly it's not that appealing to me.  Snake Lair could tempt me but not if it's anywhere near $200.

Hopefully, they've learned a bit from the Jurassic gates and try to keep the price down.  That campaign only had value if everything was unlocked, and so much of the unlocks just felt like padding and items which should be released at retail.  Hell, the basic gates (and fence) would probably do well at retail.  Especially, if the fence was sold separately and was designed to be army built and connected together to form an enclosure.  But that's for another thread.  Just hoping this campaign is more streamlined.

I'm a sucker for crossovers like this. I passed on the Hasbro TMNT/MMPR crossover, because I'm not a big MMPR fan. But for MotU and TMNT? I'm on board, definitely.

Some of those designs are pretty cool.  I actually like the turtles themselves.  Man At Arms looks rather awesome.  Trap Jaw armorizing himself with Mousers is rather clever.

I'm curious how many figures/waves they're going to do.  I'm guessing this is at least half of them, since we've only gotten 2 turtles revealed.

Before these figures were revealed, an image was released along with the announcement of 8 characters from MOTU and 8 from TMNT facing off, my guess is their plan is to make all of them. If that’s the case, we have Raphael, Michelangelo, Casey Jones, Splinter, Shredder, Teela, Skeletor, Beast Man, Ram-Man, and Hordak still to come. I’m surprised April wasn’t included on the TMNT side but there’s no reason they can’t add her in if they choose to.

HOT DAMN do those Turtles of Grayskull figures look great!

I'm already planning where to add them to my Origins and MOTU:WWE figures/display.

LOVE:

He-Man.  That mutated look is crazy in a good way and I can see him ending up like disco Skeletor down the road (loved after the fact)

Trap-Jaw.  MOUSERS?!?!  That is ingenious, way to go design team.  Looks great and I assume will be able to switch parts, and hopefully the Mouser can be assembled.

LIKE:

Man-At-Arms.  He looks great, but not really much of an "out there" design choice.  Though I LOVE that turtle shell shield.

Krang.   He looks great, but a bit unwieldy in the Origins design style.  Also not 100% on the green skin.  Still overall I like it.

NEED TO SEE MORE/IN PERSON:

Both turtles.  Who would have thought in a line called Turtles of Grayskull I would be a bit "meh" on the actual turtles.  Don't get me wrong, I like them and will get them, but they are kind of average designs to me.  Especially seeing some of the other figures.  Once I see them in person, or more photos with the accessories and options, I'm sure I'll like them more.

Hot dang these are fun. I wish the turtles didn't reuse the basic forearms and shins and had bare skin instead so these could pass for basic turtles if you take everything off, but overall, I'm impressed. Some really fun mashups, especially the turtles themselves. I might just be sticking to the TMNT characters if these are Mattel exclusives, because I'll need to save costs.

The MOTU characters are fun, but getting them will rely on whether they're Fangor priced vs Lady Slither. They have to know this in general, right?

Also, looks like we've got Leo as He-man, Don as MAA,  so which MOTU characters will inspire Raph and Mike? I could see Ram-Man for Raph, though that might need new body tooling. Stratos? Mekaneck?

Has it been stated how/where these will be available?

Kinda interesting/disappointing Hordak is one of the characters instead of Merman.

Very true, they aren't beholden to any price point.   I'm with others in hoping it is below $200US.

However I will say that they didn't seem to have much of an issue asking $250US for those gates from Jurassic Park.  It seems that it was almost universally panned as not anywhere near worth that price, but still they went with it.  I don't put it past any decision maker at MC (executive/bean counter/whatever) to stick with a price point that doesn't work for whatever reason.

Hopefully since the non-MOTU crowdfunds were not properties Mattel owns, and have to pay a licensing fee for, that contributed to the price, and since they own MOTU they can keep the price down with Snake Lair.

Again, don't get me wrong - I don't have a lot of faith in Mattel to be reasonable with their pricing basically ever since they decided MOTUO figures in Canada should basically jump in price by 25% all at once. They don't care about customers and I have no illusions to the contrary.

However, there's always the possibility that the FAILURE of several big ticket MC items (WCW ring, Jurassic Gates) will cause them to reconsider what people are willing to pay for what type of items, and the idea that you can have a 'one price fits all' method of doing crowdfunds where you idiotically work backwards from the price you want to charge (a lesson they also could have taken from the Hellcharger HasLab or the Rancor HasLab).

It only takes one person with clout to be like 'hey guys, let's be smarter here.'  Not saying it will happen. But it's -possible-.

As others have intimated, I fucking LOVE those crossover figures. No notes (except I hate Leo's swords). They look fantastic and in at least a few cases pretty damn clever as well (making Krang Megator, and the Mouser Trap-Jaw). Very excited to get all of those. And equally excited to see what wave 2 will look like. MOTU-ized Casey Jones? Yes please.

I just about have to pick up these MOTU TMNT Figures.  Childhood me would slap the p*** out of current me if I passed on a crossover between my two childhood favorite toy lines.

They look really fun too.  I like that Mutagen He-Man.  He seems to be made of translucent purple plastic.  It's really cool.

Looks like we'll be getting 16 figures.  8 MOTU Characters, and 8 TMNT Characters.

Back to the Snake Lair though. I really expect the playset (along with any possible unlockable stretch goals) to be $250 before tax and shipping.  if it's less, I would be thrilled.  But I just feel like $250 will be the number.

Some of you guys are such easy marks. Easy pass on the MOTUxTMNT for me. Don't really get the appeal of mixmash designs. The Power Ranger ones were a little more interesting but still a pretty easy pass. Glad they're making em for those that do like them though. Just not for me.

No way I can resist that Krang -  that is too great looking.   Mutagen He-Man is also intriguing.   The rest I think are a pass for me.    That Man at Arms just looks like Man at Arms with a turtle shell shield.    I'll keep my eyes open for the next round -  curious what they'll do with Shredder and Splinter and some of the other bad guys.

So people are essentially suckers for liking them but you're glad they're being made for suckers?  This is almost passive aggressive gatekeeping.  They're fun toys.  MAA doesn't even really give off TMNT vibes and is just a cool samurai-esque look.  The whole idea of mashups works really well with both properties, and each line had different versions of characters.  Hell TMNT was full of mashups, like Star Trek and Universal Monsters.  Obviously, if you don't like one of the properties you probably won't care about the concept but some of the designs are just cool variations of characters.

Man-At-Arms' helmet looks a little like Chrome Dome's to me.

And that He-Man, is he supposed to be Faker and Slash mashed up? Both would work as evil versions of the hero, so he'd make more sense to me as Slash/Faker. Slaker? Fash?
