The biggest disappointment with Filmation figures was seeing a January release for Skeletor and March for Teela when I placed my BBTS order.
I ordered the Filmation figures, but that was it for Origins scale. Only other things I saw were reissues.
I really like those Wal-Mart exclusive figures! It's really too bad they're Wal-Mart exclusives, that's always such a disappointing thing to see for me.
Try being in Canada.
For some reason Walmart Canada doesn't get the MOTU:O exclusives. They get pretty much everything else (ML, Joe, TF, etc) but we have not seen hide, nor hair, of Duplico or Moss Man. Same goes for the Rulers of the Sun 3-packs from Target. TRU normally gets Target exclusives up here, but nothing on that front either.
I like these exclusives and would love to get them, but I won't be hunting them down that's for sure. If they don't pop up on Walmart Canada I'll live without.
I'm more interested to see what the crowdfund item will be on the 12th. I vote Snake Lair and Horde Tank. I know it will probably come down to the Attack Track, Fright Zone, or Snake Lair, so I'm eager to see what won. Though I am not eager to see the price.
I don't collect this line but I had to snag that Filmation Skeletor. Just a neat little guy.
Just preordered all the filmation figures and here I thought I was almost done with Origins. I will be passing on the snakemen exclusives though and save my money there.
I wasn't going to, but I did end up pre-ordering Skeletor, Teela, and He-Man. Realistically, I just have zero faith of ever seeing any of this stuff at retail in Canada ever again. Besides some Landshark's, there's basically no MOTUO product in any Walmart or TRU in my city anymore. There's entire waves of product we never got, especially the 'deluxe' stuff like Leech or TP He-Man. Never saw the Roton. Etc etc. Very disappointing and I don't see it changing with the new line.
@theknightdamien It's starting to get as dismal here too. We are still getting some Masterverse, but Origins replenishment is slim to none at both big box stores. Singles are non-existent after the Stratos/BuzzOff/Jitsu/Sorceress wave. Vehicles are still showing up, but they warm the shelves after initial sales. I'm definitely still relying on preorders, mostly at BBTS, because I've been burned at Amazon. Target still has POs, and while they've never burned me on MotU specifically, I have generally found it in store before they ship, so I cancel. I think the Filmation offerings could be a jolt for the Origins line (I think they look outstanding) but I don't know how much more interest there will be in this line. I just hope they do the right thing and finish off the vintage selection. That has to be prioritized, otherwise there's gonna be a bunch of dissatisfied customers.

Oh, I definitely know you guys up north and the collectors overseas have it much worse - no question about that. Hopefully they do come through for you guys. For what its worth, I've never seen a Duplico either. I did find one single Moss Man and that was a bittersweet victory when I scanned him and the checkout (I know you guys would have to pay even more as well, which sucks).
Im super interested in seeing what wins out too. I voted for the Snake Lair and Attack track, but preparing the blow on what the price will be as well.
Got mini-comic Man-E-Faces in today. Amazon managed to put his card under one of the box flaps so when I cut the box open it sliced the card down the middle, but at least he's here.
Target had Snake Mountain up for pre-order randomly and I was able to get that with a ML figure to save $40! It ended up being $10 cheaper than my original preorder and I basically got the ML for free.
Not sure where it was reported/posted, but Toy Habits is saying that the Snake Lair has won the fan vote and will be crowdfunded in Spring 2024.
Yep, Snake Lair is the winner, and should go up to crowdfund Spring of 2024. It was announced first on Mattel Creations youtube channel.
I'm very happy this won. The playset looks really cool.
I’m glad Snake Lair is the winner, but I doubt I’ll back it. I’ve said before that Snake Men was never my preferred faction. I try to stick with only stuff that was offered in the original line. That also doesn’t mean I’d necessarily buy a Horde Fright Zone unless they overhaul it in a big and way more interesting update.
Yeah... this was my second choice so... I dunno. If the Attak Trak had been the winner, I don't think there's any chance I wouldn't have backed it as long as it wasn't INSANELY overpriced. Under 200 bucks or so? Yeah, I'd get it.
But we know, as an MC Kickstarter, this thing is probably going to be more expensive than a comparable retail set like Grayskull or Snake Mountain. So the question is going to be.. by how much will it be overpriced?
Because I think it's a cool idea, but it means nothing to me. So for me to want to actually get it, it would need to seem like a decent value. If it's just obviously way more money than it should be, and their shipping to Canada is wildly unreasonable (which, to be fair, it really hasn't been with previous releases), then I'm not even going to look twice.
If it's reasonably priced, with a reasonable shipping charge? Well... I may be in trouble.
