Personally I think that Spider-man swinging into action with a shield that has a portrait of his secret identity on it is the most tactically sound decision any superhero has ever made.

You mean besides listening to Iron Man, and publicly revealing his secret identity to the world, so that he had to have that knowledge magically erased from everyone’s mind, including his wife’s? Besides that?
Lenticular should be the name of the new YouTuber who leaks upcoming marvel legends waves.
Wouldn't Marvel own the Secret Wars logo, and they lent it out to Mattel? I mean, it's the logo from the comic, right?
Secret Wars were my first introduction to Marvel toys outside of Spidey stuff ("who is this guy with CLAWS???") so I should be more excited. I literally have beat-to-heck original Secret Wars figures on my desk right now - Cap, both Spideys, Daredevil, Magneto, Zemo (I lost Wolverine, might need to pay through the nose to find one!). But almost all the figures I loved as a kid I have a top-shelf, exactly what I need version of already, and I bet they're mostly a gimmicky repack. Hoping there's a reason to upgrade though (I would not mind one bit an update to brown and tan Wolverine for sure).
Falcon would be a nice get. I don't remember Titania being in Secret Wars but I'll take a Titania on one of the newer bucks in a heartbeat.
Black Spider-Man and Beyonder seem like locks to me.

Same here! Spider-Man and Hulk were the only ones I knew before that toyline, then the comics were a bigger introduction.

Heh, same here. But I also am collecting for a movie-versions-of-the-secret-wars cast shelf. Have the avengers, so just need the mutants, Spider Woman, and FF already.

And what?!? Isn't that where she was introduced?

So it turns out that the logo from the Secret Wars comics looks like this:
And the Mattel logo looks like this:
And apparently there is enough differences between the two that Mattel is able to claim some sort of ownership over the specific trade dress with the highlights in the middle of the letters and the lightning coming down on the blue background and whatever.
So Hasbro can do figures using the trade dress from the comics - but not from the old toys... or at least that's what I was made to understand.
@ru1977 I actually meant the toy line, not the comic 🙂 Knew she was in the comic, but couldn't remember there being any women characters in the toy line at all. (Titania has been on my top ten since I started collecting Legends so I am utterly indifferent to HOW we get her as long as we finally do, I'll preorder that in a New York Minute.)
Also, this thread just caused me to literally immediately log onto eBay earlier today and buy a nine-dollar, claws missing but most of his paint is still there Secret Wars Wolverine figure just so I could have one. Still missing about half of them but no Logan was bugging me. I'll be amazed if I have the willpower to not be looking for cheap but not horrifically mangled Doc Ock and such later this weekend. Man, I played with those figures til you could pinwheel the arms they were so worn out.
I actually didn’t care for the lenticular shields in the original 80s line save for Captain America because he actually uses a shield. But it didn’t look like his actual shield. Did any of the images actually turn to an image of the Stars and Stripes? I don’t think it did which ticked me off even more back in the day. That and they didn’t move like 80s Joes.
