@panthercult yes, I had all of the first wave. I was suggesting that's why they're more expensive, but didn't see Beamish had already done so.
I had the first wave, then got the black spiderman and Hobgoblin but my cousin's friend bit Spiderman's head for some reason, placing the eye right on his canine tooth, so Spiderman always had a dented eye after that. 40 years later I'm still aggravated by that.
@ru1977 ah gotcha... the question marks had me thinking you didn't know what they were, not that you were speculating that might be what was causing the price bump.
Honestly, if they are included and that is causing an almost $10 price increase Hasbro can eat it. There's zero percent chance I am spending extra money on that garbage.
I feel like with the new She-Hulk and Power Princess, Titania's GOT to be coming soon...right? And a new Thundra, and Arclight, and a Frenzy, and a Volcana, and... This is one time where I implore Hasbro to reuse the heck out of a new buck. Give us the large ladies! Sorry.
Ahem. Yes, hoping to see some new SW characters!
Just because of this post, Hasbro is going to give us Big Bertha, Gatecrasher, and Tillie the Hun instead.

You're welcome. 😉
If Hasbro uses the blue packaging and logo based on the original Mattel toys, they'd have to pay them royalties, which would potentially bump up the price.
I am thinking the price bump might be like Beamish said, Mattel did that toy line so they may have to pay them to use those designs for the cardback. That is more than likely the main reason

This is an understandable reaction. I remember when I took a Worf figure to the pool. He didn't come home the same...
Now you guys got me hoping for both retro-carded Mattel-style Secret Wars packaging AS WELL AS a lenticular shield accessory. Those would be hard to both pass up and open. They'd look great just hanging on the wall if they're figures I've already got.

I swear if the reason these are that expensive is because they were sticklers for accuracy on a cardback when they can't even be bothered to make the figures accurate half the time......

My Man-At-Arms had a chunk missing from his chin because my cousin decided to bite it off just to annoy me. Funny the little irritations that live with us forever.
@renfield75 right? What's with these kids? Get some gum, Bobby!
Pre-emptive outrage is the best kind.
Precisely!
I am willing to be entirely and pleasantly surprised by the offering - and to have an inflated price justified by the contents - I am, after all the guy who was here if not defending, at least quelling outrage about the price of the Lockjaw pack.
So, if the price is well justified bring it on. But if it's $10 extra for lenticular shields we riot!! 😡
Mattel just released Hot Wheels in Secret Wars homage packaging, and they did include the lenticular shields. Will Hasbro try to compete with the Distinguished Competition (I don't have a similar acronym for "Mattel" so, sorry).
