I am simultaneously hoping to be blown away and braced for this to be massively disappointing. Schrodinger's toy collector.

EE listed a preorder case for ML Secret Wars figures. The case includes six different figures, but the total for the case was listed at 199.99. Unless I missed the quantities per figure, I assume it's one of each. That brings individual prices to about $34. And that is insane for a standard sized figure, even if it's a big lady like JoMiHa is requesting. I hope I missed the quantities on the case breakdown. I'd love to be wrong about this.

Considering they're listings that weren't even meant to be live, and that $33.33/each is a silly price, AND we don't even know what the product is yet, I won't get too worked up about it. Excited to see what it's in the wave, but I'm also braced to be a little underwhelmed by the lack of Titania and classic Falcon.

I thought cases were always 8 figures. If so, 2 duplicates and the price is still $25

Ha yea, that's ML in a nutshell.

"Estimated to arrive in January 2025"

Which probably means December.

That's not a lot of product coming for the rest of the year besides the stuff revealed at SDCC.

I wonder if there's a surprise wave up their sleeves for the remainder of 2024.

They do tend to sit this time of year out, but I'd love to be wrong. Another two waves of X-Men would be fine with me.

aka Strange Tales Syndrome…

For that price, I’m hoping it’s mostly nostalgia-bait repaints of the big hitters. I’ll just take the hit on the inevitable Titania and move on…

Brown Costume Wolverine
New Classic Cap (pinless)
New Classic Iron Man
Black Costume Spider-Man
Dr. Doom from two-pack rerelease\Beyonder in armor
Some random ass figure (Titania)

These are my predictions. I don't think it's gonna be anything mind blowing. Would be shock to see new Absorbing man figure or something like Hobgoblin.

Retro card cases were always 6.

What I'd personally like to see from this wave (pipe dream):

Beyonder

ISAAC

Starfox

Titania

Volcana

Zsaji

What I expect is mostly an homage to the Mattel line.

Wolverine (already shown)

Spider-Man (possibly both costumes)

Captain America

Iron Man

Doctor Octopus (although this would probably be more likely to be a deluxe these days)

Doctor Doom (again, even though we just got him with Monica)

Magneto and Kang would be the most likely other possibilities if they weren't already recently done or going to be done. Kang is a mostly different look, though.

Other less likely possibilities: Daredevil, Falcon, Hobgoblin, Zemo

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Wave 1 of 2 and they release 12 figures to match the 12 issues. This might even be where that rumored spinning comic rack with digital comic redemption codes comes into play.

I'd buy all of my 6 choices and likely would skip any and all from the homage lists.

Maybe that's an extra $10 for lenticular shields 😀

You think you're joking, but this sounds pretty plausible. Like how 20th Anniversay Toad was $34 because of a cardboard backdrop.

Yeah... I'm all for nostalgia but a $10 per figure bump for characters I already have on a retro card will be a hard pass.     I'm hoping there's a swerve in there or something.

Lenticular shields?

Edit: damnit, I hadn't caught up and now see that was already suggested, heh.

Lenticular shields?

Are you not familiar with the original Secret Wars figures from the 80s?

They all came packed with these shields that had lenticular inserts with images that alternated the image when you tilted it.

They were lame.   I mean "fun"
