@aceofknaves it would be funny to do totally appropriate figures for Secret Wars who never actually appeared in the original series. Falcon, Daredevil, Hobgoblin, Zemo, electro, Constrictor, and Iceman.
If that's how they chose to finally give me a classic costume Falcon figure I wouldn't hate it. I know there are some who wouldn't mind another crack at a nice basic Bobby Drake Ice Man, classic Electro hasn't been done in awhile. I've been seeing people making noise about wanting a nice updated classic Daredevil that isn't part of a multipack - I honestly think people would be open to it. A Zemo repaint in the classic colors of the Secret Wars figure probably wouldn't be the worst thing. The rumor list says an updated Constrictor is supposed to be coming in a 2-pack with Crossbones, so maybe he'd be left out. And I'm not sure how different a Secret Wars Hobgoblin would be from the one they released on the retro Spider-Man card.
The reality is though I would welcome some of these - especially Falcon - over another Captain America, Iron Man and Magneto. I think black costume Spider-Man is a lock.
I could see them doing the tan/brown Wolverine on the card too - but then doing the most hilarious thing, making the claws black. 🤣
If this retro wave could deliver at least one of Titania or Volcana I would be super happy though.
Nah, I want them to make a new Classic Iron Man without the pins and blue unibeam. Just Legends figure in Mafex Colours. You can even give us Rhodey head sculpt.
Can see them making a new brown costume Wolverine (Dan's favorite), Kang is obvious, Black costume Spider-Man is a lock. Dan also said, that he wants a new pinless classic Cap figure...so who knows. The other two figures are probably Titania\Volcana (new She-Hulk repaint), maybe Doom figure from that two-pack with Monika.
I like having 1 cardback for these retro lines. So I would personally hope they do Beyonder Doom on the Retro. Yeah, the 2 pack is super cheap now. But I don't actually want the figure. I want the cardback, but as far as options for characters in the cardback that would be my most desirable choice
Watch this will end up being a tribute wave to the original Mattel toys and only include the original 8: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, Kang, Doom, Magneto and Doctor Octopus. Would be the most boring wave ever, but might do well at retail with all well known characters. I'd have no interest in that personally, but won't surprise me one bit if that's the way that they go.
If they give us a new Classic Doctor Octopus with bendable tentacles, I'm fine with it. Kang can have new gun, but I want a better head sculpt and paint.
They can make a better classic pinless Cap, but he should be really good for me to update.
Pinless classic Iron Man (and Beyonder Doom using the same parts) would be great for a redo, as would a pinless classic Cap. Hobgoblin could and *should* be very different: new 80s style head/hood (extra points for second head with a “face in shadow” black head in the hood), pinless scaled limbs, different torso with butterfly joints (no new sculpt necessary) and Moon Knight/Prowler cape. Most of the new Hobby parts could be immediately reused for an updated Green Goblin(s) and Black Knight(s).

That would be my expectation as well, altho probably not Octopus and maybe not Magneto either. I suspect this line is meant to appeal to people who collected the original line and/or want to display the figs in packaging. And of course outside of Kang its an all A-listers lineup. I'd guess the Doom will be the one from the Monica 2-pack maybe with different paint deco. I don't really expect lenticular shields altho if they're included, probably that ups the price a bit beyond the normal $25 point.
Not to say we wouldn't get other characters but i suspect they show up mixed into other lines. Am hoping they at least do Volcana and Titania, maybe the wrecking crew as well. A new Absorbing Man would be nice, he needn't be so huge as the BAF but that old figure has those ugly ball hips, yuck

I understand your logic for wanting that - but from a sales perspective the figure in the 2-pack can be had for almost the price of a single figure right now at Amazon or Hasbro Pulse. It wouldn't make a ton of sense to reissue it as a single figure currently I would think. It has to make sense for Hasbro to do.
Stranger things have happened though, I guess.
@panthercult I can easily see it not happening precisely cause that set is a peg warmer and a half. But it is also a cost cutter for the wave, so if they had other characters that needed more money in the budget, easy way to open up room for it. All you would have to do is toss in an unmasked Victor head with it.
Back when they were doing the Secret Wars 2-Packs in the 3.75" line didn't they say they couldn't use the package design because Mattel owned it?
@chooch555 Well Mattel did reveal this a couple days ago:
https://bleedingcool.com/collectibles/mattel-unveils-sdcc-hot-wheels-marvel-secret-wars-racerverse/
So there is the classic Secret Wars logo and card design and a lenticular disc included. So does Mattel still own the look, or did they license it from Hasbro/Marvel?
Anyway, there is Black Suit Spidey and Brown Suit Wolverine. So maybe a sign that they are going to be part of a Secret Wars wave? Kang should be as well after the tease by Dwight and Ryan. Who knows after that, but hopefully they'll be faithful to the original looks.
Oh and can I also say I didn't think I would want a black Spidermobile/buggy until I saw this. So c'mon Hasbro rerelease that Spidermobile from a couple years ago and paint it black. I might use Ghost Rider's, or Hellverine's head on a black suit Spidey, add some flame effects to a black Spidermobile and BAM!!! Spider Rider: Web of Vengeance!!!!
Pinless black costume Spidey without cel-shading is probably the *only* 100% lock in this wave. Several other strong maybes, but that one is an obvious, definite yes.
