@panthercult

I would prefer a classic Doom on a Secret Wars card if Hasbro feels the need to add Doom to the line.

@stoopid_sandwich I think there's also rumors of them reissuing the brown costume MAFEX.

@captain-batman So you think it makes sense for people to sell off their brown costume mafex wolverine so they could just....repurchase the brown costume mafex wolverine??? Not to polish off an old favorite around here, but

Uh whaaaaat???? 🤨

Honestly depends on if they make any updates to it. Seen it happen quite a bit with multiple other hobbies. Not that i said it makes sense.

It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard. Sell the one you have for $300 (or whatever crazy aftermarket price it's going for), buy the reissue for ~$80, pocket the difference.

@h-bird I don't know if the exchange rate would be that even. Have you seen how much ebay pockets in fees these days? I think luxury items and collectibles are up to 15%. Also between shipping fees and taxes its probably closer to what BBTS charges for Mafex reissues. Hell that Nate Grey figure that just went up is $119

Yeah, I have an ebay store and pay a 13% seller fee on every transaction and that's after paying a $27.95 subscription fee every month. I'm getting hosed. Other services are worse, though. Amazon is ridiculous. I tried Facebook marketplace for a bit but everyone wants to haggle there and I'm not dealing with that.

My eBay selling costs (shipping + fees) this year are at 26.6% of gross sales and that doesn't include packing supplies like boxes, bubble wrap, tape, etc.

Yeah, I sell quite a bit on eBay and it's not cheap. Still though - the most recent brown Mafex Wolverines are all sold for north of $300 - that's $255 after overestimating fees at 15%, take another $10 for shipping. Even if the reissue costs you $100 you're clearing ~$145. Not a bad deal for relatively little effort.

Hot Mafex reissues seem to go really fast on the import sites. I wanted a second Gambit and paid BBTS $120 in Sept '22. I threw away the trays of most of my unopened Mafex and flattened their boxes. Recently got rid of those flat boxes too, including Wolverine's, oops.

i just did a quick run through on Medicom's socials and for the life of me, I don't see anything that confirms that Brown wolverine is getting a rerelease. The only confirmed version is the $20 bootleg from CT Toys. And I wouldn't risk putting all of my chips into a bootleg. Any $20 knockoff can fall apart without much play. I have no intention of selling my Mafex wolverine just yet, but I'm still going to check out the Legends version since I like the brighter colors, I'm a huge fan of the X-Men 97 Wolverine body and I just adore that classic John Byrne/Art Adams smirk.

Yeah there's no actual announcement - I think it's a combination of a pretty reliable leaker who appears to be "in the know", and the fact that they've reissued just about everything else this year, that is making some people play the odds.

@h-bird Those must be some odds. Brown wolverine was "teased" at the possibility of getting a reissue around a year ago but nothing manifested. Since then we had nearly 3 dozen figures get the reissue treatment (some figures  2x and 3x over) yet nada for brown wolverine. At this point I'd say its a bust. Besides all the extra time that medicom has dedicated towards those precious reissues has delayed their schedule significantly. Daredevil and Cap still aren't out yet. It took months for them just to tease these final AoA releases and normally that should have been wrapped up before the Medicom Expo in July. We haven't seen this much of a backlog since early 2021 when covid slowed down production. I'd say at this point Medicom should either announce Brown wolverine or get off the pot. Because I guarantee you by either Christmas of this year or Early next year, collectors will have found their alternative.

I'm not giving up on MAFEX brown Wolverine yet. I'm not sure what process/data they use for reissues, but he's made a lot of sense for a while now.

As far as their release schedule, I don't understand how people are still giving them grief. MAFEX Daredevil went up for pre-order last October with a scheduled release date of September 2024. He's going to hit at the beginning of October instead.

Yeah I'm inclined to think that the fact they've reissued so many other figures makes the chances for brown Wolverine more favorable, rather than less. I don't have the original release though, so I'm not exactly being asked to put my money where my mouth is.
