Ask Matty – 4/30/10

It is the end/first of the month and that means Matty and Toy Guru are back to answer more of your questions. Check ’em out below and keep an eye on this page this weekend, we have several more Mattel First Looks to bring you! Stay tuned!

1. When can we see carded pics of the DCUC 14?

Hopefully, that will be by the end of June. It all depends on when we get final samples. We’ve been tweaking the packs out of this wave a lot to get it just right.

2. We know the mini Starros will be giveaways at the Mattel booth this year with the purchase of the Brave and the Bold set, any chance these will be made available in another execution somewhere down the line?

No, much like Gleek, the Starro Spores will be exclusive to the Starro DC 75th set only at SDCC 2010.

3. Will the Retro-Action style be the only execution for the Real Ghostbusters?

For 2010 it will, but that does not mean we can’t look at other scales and styles down the road!

4. Adam and Orko are AWESOME! If the Matty Collector versions sell out will you go back into production so everyone has their chance to get these two very important characters?

Yes, if the Mattycollector.com versions sells out we could do another run. We know Orko and Adam are very important to the line and most collectors will want them. The SDCC version however will be exclusive to the show only and will not get a second run.

5. Since so much is being made of the SDCC exclusives, can you tell us what, if anything, you are doing to further improve the buying experience at the Mattel booth this year? Last year had several, um, challenges? Are you working to make the experience better in 2010?

We are indeed working very closely with SDCC to find the best way to distribute our product in the easiest manner and want to do all we can to improve distribution from the past years. If we’re able to figure out our sales distribution strategy before SDCC, we’ll try to keep everyone informed. Be assured, we ARE working on it.

*Thanks, guys!
