Amy Jo Johnson. Yeah, baby! She was like the “it” girl for a while, getting her career launched by playing the Pink Ranger in Mighty Morphing Power Rangers to spending time on Felicity (she lasted two and a half seasons, and let’s be honest — those were the good seasons). If I remember correctly, she was one of the smallest actors on Power Rangers, and Felicity for that matter. She was a pocket rocket of bounce. Considering she was on her way to being an Olympic gymnast, that makes sense. I haven’t followed her career since.
Bandai’s Pink Ranger works both for Power Rangers and Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, which is good for those collecting for both shows. I’d love to wax poetic about the figure, but it is the same figure as the Yellow Ranger that was reviewed recently on the Fwoosh. The core difference between Yellow and Pink is the skirt — Pink comes with a pink skirt ’cause she’s girly. Ugh, yeah, this brings on some needs to discuss the Power Rangers show, but I’ll save that discussion for the final archive.
The figure is solid female without being obnoxious and is very well sculpted. I love the helmets on these figures, and Pink’s head is perfect in every detail.
The articulation’s been covered in Yellow, Red, Blue, and Black. The skirt inhibits posing to some degree, but not much. You can get her into about any pose you want.
The accessories are all class when dealing with S.H. Figuarts, from the extra hands to the fantastic weapons. Pink comes with a bow that is just beautiful. The only thing really missing is some kind of energy effects for the bow. The bow is held steadily in her hands and there is no need to fret about it falling out.
She’s the final addition to the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers core team. We still have to cover the Green Ranger, and we are currently debating lumping the White Ranger in with the team. Since he’s from a different Super Sentai team, my son and I are debating if he should be included in the overall archive.
You can still pick her up at:
