Toy Fair 2010 – MARVEL UNIVERSE

Marvel Universe

Jerry Jivoin, Brand Manager

Joshua Lamb, Design Director

David Vonner, Senior Designer

I’m trying to get this up quickly, so without any embellishing, here’s the dry facts.

If Marvel Universe began with a “Big Bang” in 2009, then 2010 will be all about expanding the universe.  The Fury Files have become the Hammer Files and all the art for this year will be from long time Marvel artist Mike Deodato.

Numbering starts over with Series 2.

Wave 1 is already out as you know. Vision, Sunfire, Wolverine, etc

Wave 2 should be hitting now, includes:

Golden Age Captain America

Bucky

Black Widow

JMS Thor

Wave 3

Archangel

Kitty Pryde with Lockheed (he’s bendy!)

Modern Havok

AIM goon

Colossus

Juggernaut

Wave 4

Iron Patriot

Skrull soldier (modeled after Secret Invasion)

Iron Spidey

Winter Soldier

Wrecker

Mary Jane with Ms. Lyon (to finish out your Spidey & his Amazing Friends!)

Thanos is coming… !

2 packs

Dark Phoenix/Cyclops

Black “Spider-Man” Venom/Daken

Sentry/Spider-Man

19” Galactus – MSRP $49.99.  Super Articulated.  On shelves in October.

Unfortunately, while Kitty, AIM, wave 4, and the 2-packs were all pictured in the presentation, they were not in the showroom and we they did not supply us with press pics for you as they promised (“everything you’re seeing here will be in the press kit”–uhh…not.)  But I can tell you they look good.  We will work at getting some pics from Hasbro of these guys.

I had a chance to speak with briefly with the Hasbro team and I can tell you that Lockheed is bendy and can be wrapped around Kitty numerous ways–he’s not just a clip-on accessory.

There will retailer 3-packs, but they won’t be “themed” as they were this year.  Expect something more along the lines of A-Listers with new paint or deco.

BIG FWOOSH EXCLUSIVE:

Sometime in the latter half of the year, there will be a MU 6-pack.  They wouldn’t get specific about it, but they did say it would be based on a very important (and highly priced) comic in Marvel’s history.  My guess is Giant Size X-Men #1.  But that is MY OWN GUESS, so don’t hold Hasbro to that.DSC01794.JPGDSC01795.JPGDSC01796.JPGDSC01797.JPGDSC01798.JPGDSC01799.JPGDSC01801.JPGDSC01802.JPGDSC01804.JPGDSC01805.JPGDSC01806.JPGDSC01807.JPGDSC01808.JPGDSC01809.JPGDSC01811.JPGDSC01812.JPGDSC01833.JPGarchangel.jpgbucky.jpgcage.jpgcolossus.jpggalactus.jpghavok.jpgjms thor.jpgjuggernaut.jpgmod im.jpgsilver surfer.jpgsunfire.jpgwwii cap.jpg
