The Golden Age suit isn’t my favorite Captain America suit, given that we have a few costumes to choose from now, but it’s high on the list. It just looks great, more uniform than costume. But I’ve seen a lot of talk online about why he dons it again in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Maybe his new Commander Rogers (stealth?) costume gets destroyed? Me, I think he’s playing mind games with Bucky. We’ve seen pics of this costume in a museum type setting. Steve grabs it to try to jog Barnes’ memory. And the changes are because of artistic choice of the person who set up the museum display. Who knows, just all my speculation. I hope the difference is mentioned in the movie even if it is just a passing comment.
Anyway, Hot Toys revealed their Golden Age Captain America fro Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it is glorious. I really like the added red stripes and subtle changes from the First Avenger costume.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming superhero blockbuster – Captain America: The Winter Soldier will launch worldwide very soon! Steve Rogers will be donning his new “Golden Age” suit to fight the powerful Winter Soldier. Hot Toys is thrilled to present the new 1/6th scale Captain America (Golden Age Version) Collectible Figure. This movie promo edition collectible figure will be available exclusively during upcoming promotion events period in different countries. Please stay tuned for updates!
The movie-accurate collectible is specially crafted based on the image of Chris Evans as Captain America in his “Golden Age” suit in the film. It features a brand new helmeted head sculpt, newly developed body, newly tailored costume made with new materials, and a specially-made metal circular Captain America shield with distressed effect.
You can check out Hot Toys’ Facebook page for more pictures and info, including their booth at the Jakarta Toys and Comics show. I have a sneaking suspicion more may be revealed soon as we’ve already seen some hinted Winter Soldier and Falcon action…
