He’s a demon on wheels and he is speeding his way into theaters this May! Speed Racer has hit the scene and thanks to Toy Guru and the whole crew at Mattel, we have a First Look at some of the toys headed your way very soon. There is also a chance to get your hands on some of this stuff for free thanks to a Mattel and Fwoosh-sponsored contest. Read on to learn all the details!
We will let the pictures do the talking for the most part, but there is a lot of stuff getting ready to hit in a variety of packaging. The deluxe vehicles are especially nice and each comes with the appropriate driver. The Battle Rig has lots of parts and weapons but everything remains very kid-friendly, I imagine the little ones will really dig this stuff.
The figures are about 3.5" scale and are well done with great likenesses (Hey! It’s John Goodman!) and about 10 POA per figure. I am also impressed with how faithful most of the designs are to the original Speed Racer.

Overall I am pretty impressed with this line. The smaller scale works in its favor as the vehicles are the focus (as they should be) and all of the parts and action features can be hidden or removed if you prefer.
