Do you ever pre-order so many toys that you forget what you have on order? When I saw the first in-hand images of the new Figuarts Han Solo, I had a moment of panic where I wasn’t sure I had pre-ordered this figure. Fortunately I did so let’s take a look!
The figure comes in a glossy black window box with some nice photos on the side and back. Not nice enough to save it from recycling, but classy and low profile.
The figure also came packed with this separate box with a figure stand. I honestly forgot this came with it!
The stand is the typical Figuarts style stand, but this one has a nice Jedi symbol on it. There are three peg holes where you can attach the stand arm and each hole has a peg that closes the hole when not in use.

The figure comes with two fists, two neutral hands, a blaster holding hand, Han’s DL-44 Blaster pistol, a holster with a blaster, and an empty holster piece.
The hands look nice and function well. The swapping is tight, but not overly difficult except the trigger finger hand is a little tighter and tougher to put on than the rest.
The blaster is a decent sculpt of the DL-44 and has a little extra paint on the handle and that’s about it. The holster pieces are meant to swap out depending on whether or not Han’s holding the blaster. They peg into a hole in the leg. This works okay, but is a little looser than I’d like. I had already lost one of the holsters on the original Figuarts Han, so I wasn’t very happy to see this style again. I think I prefer what Hasbro does for these blasters.
The sculpting on this figure is excellent. The clothing wrinkles and leather jacket texture are perfect and match Harrison’s look from the movie really well. The head is an exceptionally good likeness in a line that is already well known for good likenesses. I think this might be the best Harrison Ford likeness I own at this point.

He scales well with the Black Series, so it works as a replacement for that figure since it has better proportions, detail, and articulation.

Paint is pretty minimal, with most parts cast in the right color, but the paint work on the head is really nicely done. The eyes are very sharp and though there is the usual pixelation from a face print, it’s pretty subtle and tough to see in hand. I also love the way the hair is finished. It’s a bit of a silvery paint with a brown wash that works so well to convey the almost completely silver hair Harrison sports in TFA.

The articulation is also quite nice with:
- Swivel/hinge shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and hips
- Single hinged toes
- Ball and socket head, neck, upper torso, waist, and ankles
- Butterfly pec joints that attach to the shoulders with a ball and socket
The ab crunch range is pretty impressive on this figure. I also like the tilting range of motion on the torso ball and sockets.

The swivel at the shoulders swivels where it attaches to the body and where it attaches to the arm, but it took a little work to free up the arm swivel and that doesn’t quite get the range of motion a bicep swivel will get. I also don’t get much swivel out of the swivel/hinge elbows and knees so I kind of wish they would just integrate those into the body sculpting better.

This is pretty pricey figure ($60 before shipping), but it’s so much better than the existing Hasbro TFA Han that I’m so glad I have it. I think an alternate head with a grin would have made this figure perfect, but as it is it’s my favorite Figuarts figure yet.
