Mattel and Nerdist has revealed another San Diego Comic Con exclusive, this time returning to the land of Eternia!
The Masters of the Universe He-Man and Prince Adam 2-pack pulls at the nostalgia strings while throwing some modern twists in. The sculpts are pure vintage while updating the articulation with hinge and swivels at the shoulders elbows, wrists, knees, and ankles. Ball hips and head? Boot swivels? Interesting.
They aren’t without updated accessories though. The weapons are nifty and the alternate heads are mini-comic inspired. In fact, Adam’s blue vest, the packaging, and other elements are pure mini-comic, while the boot dagger veers back to the concept art. I nearly missed the alternate hands because I’m so used to the C-grip hand being on MOTU all my life. A lot going on here.
The set will cost $40 and will be available for pre-order on the Mattel shop June 17th for pick-up at SDCC, or you can buy it at the con.
