Hasbro: Marvel Legends Spider-Man Infinite Lizard Series Spider-Man Noir, Lasher, and Gwenpool

Okay, so we took an off day in our string of features looking at the new Marvel Legends Spider-Man Infinite Series Lizard wave (what a mouthful), but for your wait, you get an extra figure for this installment. Taking our count from two to three, here is our look at Spider-Man Noir, Lasher, and Gwenpool (yeah, we are making you wait it out to the bitter end for Lizard), and I promise, we have saved the series’ best figure for this one.

Since we are doing these in the order that we shot them, Robo and I got more and more into a roll by the time we got to talking about these three figures on camera:

So, at this juncture, I don’t have quite as much to add to my thoughts from before, but I do have a few, so if you are still here, I have a bit more to share now. So read on… IF YOU DARE! No, there is no dare, it is actually pretty low key.

SPIDER-MAN NOIR

I think we actually got everything across with our look at this figure in the video. He is a surprise in terms of how much I like the overall actual product, even with no real reference to the character. Often times, monochromatic figures can fall flat, but there are enough textures and sculpted details on this guy to keep it interesting. As I said in the video, I really like the base body this is built on, but it can be just a bit stiff, and the jacket tends to exacerbate that, but since he is not built like a typical Spider-Man, I am going to assume he doesn’t pose quite as dynamically as the classic version.

Marvel Legends is doing a heck of job carving out a large and diverse swath of the Spiderverse, and this figure definitely cuts a unique silhouette and the dark color palette even makes Symbiote Spider-Man blush with envy. Overall, a solid entry, if not overshadowed by more dynamic figures in the assortment.

LASHER

Yeah, I said it, I am not a Symbiote guy. I do own the Carnage and Venom ML figures, but that is about as far as I have gotten. That being said, I like this guy. The colors appeal to me, and while I was tired and in a rather ill-lit room for the video, I have discovered a pearlescent quality to the dark green, which contrasts nicely with the toxic waste color of green used for the accents. He will offset Carnage on the shelf nicely, so having these three from the Symbiote class will make for an interesting corner of the ML shelf.

The tentacles are a nice touch, if not something wholly unique to the Symbiotes, but they would have been made so much better if they were on ball joints to help with some movement. It is a small thing for another figure that is going into the shelf display, but I always want movement where there can and should be movement, and since this is one of those cases, he loses some points. He does get credit however, for making me actually like a new-ish Symbiote, because I have never taken much notice in the past.

GWENPOOL

More than any other figure in the assortment, I got my thoughts and feelings mostly out about GwenPool. That is relatively easy to do for your favorite, and overall best figure in the wave, but so much love was given here, you have to appreciate it. Even if the character makes you want to wretch, all of the detail, from the expressive portraits, do the damned genius hands, to the sculpted ribbing on the friggin’ TUBE SOCKS, this figure leaves nothing on the table in terms of execution (except the lack of paint on those shoes), and it is so successful. So, that being said:

GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME. GWENPOOL IS AWESOME.

Need I say more?

Okay, that is it for the standard figures in the assortment. If you are going for classic characters with a solid figure, get Mysterio. If you want the best figure in the assortment, though, make it GWENPOOL!
