Medicom is still finding way to make me want their Star Wars figures, this time giving us two Shoretroopers in one.
I realize that Bandai gave us the option for all three Shoretrooper versions in their excellent model kit line, but I’m a sucker for this kind of thing. And for action figures in general. And for Star Wars. I’m over a barrel here, okay? Now for the next few MAFEX releases to be good. Please.
The sculpt and paint here look good, but like the MAFEX Death Trooper, there are switchable parts to make either the Shoretrooper grunt of the Squad Leader. That’s actually quite a few parts too. Belt with either skirt or armor plates and ammo pouch, shoulder pads, and chest piece. I can see why they didn’t include parts for the Captain since that’s also a forearm piece along with the chest.
Along with all of the interchangeable pieces there are extra hands and two weapons.
The Shoretrooper will run about 5400 yen, which is $45 with today’s exchange rate. But we have to wait until August 2017. Medicom, always striking while the iron is hot. Who am I kidding, it’s Star Wars, it’ll still sell.
