Official Fwoosh Top Five Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure Results

We’re doing something a bit different this year. While we did reveal the winner of the BAF, or Build-a-Figure, vote in the top ten reveal thread, we’re going to go a little more in depth about the winner and the other top five vote getters. Since so many of you voted, we feel we need to give some other characters that you guys want to see as a  build a figure some love.

There were quite a few different characters voted for in the Build-a-Figure category as 81 different options were voted for. There were a lot of characters receiving only one or two votes too, showing that there is a wide array of characters people would lie to see get the BAF treatment.

Let’s get to the results.

Coming in at number five is a character that really, maybe more than any other character, deserves to get an awesome new figure.

Thing

Ben Grimm is one of my all-time favorite characters. He’s amazingly brave, steel-willed, funny, and has a heart so big it’s matched only by his enormous size. How can you not love Aunt Petunia’s favorite nephew? I think Ben, along with the entire Fantastic Four, really need some new figure love. Who wouldn’t want a wave of the F4 all in their iconic Blue uniforms with maybe The Thing as the BAF?  The Thing did garner an additional 13 votes in the regular top ten, so regardless of whether he’s just a figure in a wave or in a wave built around him as the BAF, I’d say he’s a big want to the Marvel Legends collectors.

The number four spot goes to the only female in the top five.  She may have a new costume and a new identity now, but it seems her original code name and design are what the fans want to see.

Stature

A female BAF would definitely be different. Cassie Lang hasn’t been around all that long as compared to the other characters on this list, but it seems she definitely made an impression. Plus, with ability to grow to giant size, getting her as a taller BAF just makes sense. Maybe even as just a standalone 12-inch figure? Probably a stretch, but Hasbro has surprised us before.

The number three spot goes right along with the top ten results from the regular poll.  The big bad mutant baddie to go along with the X-Men-heavy top ten winners.

Apocalypse

Having already made a regular-sized figure and giant Build-a-Figure of this guy, you would think this couldn’t happen. Then again, Hasbro has never made a figure of this guy, and, with the huge success of the Juggernaut wave, who else better to build a future X-Men wave around? I would definitely be down for a new and improved master of the Four Horsemen.

While he didn’t win, the number two vote-getter again had a super-strong showing. Finishing in second place two years in a row, it’s another X-Men baddie.

Sauron

Sauron never really had a big showing in these top ten polls up until last year.  Those votes were probably sparked by the awesome custom Sauron hanging around the Hasbro booth at San Diego Comic Con 2015. His strong showing again this year may be a combination of some carryover from that and the spike in Marvel Legends collectors wanting everything X-Men this year. Either way, I have to agree with the voters and say he would make an awesome BAF.  Just make sure he has some articulated wings and enough joints to allow him to get into crouching poses.

The winner and still heavyweight champion of the world!!!!

Lockjaw

At this point it’s kind of ridiculous the kind of stranglehold Lockjaw has on the top spot in the Build-a-Figure poll. Every year new winners come and go in the top ten, yet still Lockjaw sits here. Patiently. Waiting. Wondering. Why, Hasbro?  Why? Why not give us a Lockjaw figure?  Make him the BAF in a Spider-Man wave. Or an X-Men wave. Or a future movie wave even if it has zero to do with Inhumans. Although, truth be told, I’d be pretty stoked if Hasbro managed to release him in a wave complete with the remaining major Inhuman characters like Crystal, Gorgon, and Triton, but I digress. I think I speak for a lot of fellow Marvel Legends collectors when I say we really hope they find a way to get him to us sooner rather than later.

Well, that’s it for the top five Build-a-Figure characters. What do you think? Did your character make it?  Discuss it on the boards or leave a comment to let us know your thoughts.
