I’m a huge fan of the Operation: Monster Force line from Big Bad Workshop and have enjoyed seeing pictures of the newest figures at various shows like Joe Fest, so I was stoked that I could see them in person. There was a lot of interesting figures shown off from the Naughty or Nice, Longbox Heroes, C.O.P.S., and a new line that I think will interest a lot of figure photographers, the NPCs.
First off, it was great seeing all the awesome upcoming Monsterforce figures in person. I cannot wait for wave 2, especially their Frankenstein Monster, The Donner Party and they all look fantastic in person. It was also fun to see so many Fwoosh Skeletons added to the mix. I also love the female character prototypes they showed off, they have a solid power to the builds, but are very pretty too.
The fans have been clamoring for a Mrs. Claus for the Naughty or Nice line and they surprised me with this non-traditional look.
The six inch Longbox heroes are looking fantastic too.
The Atlas figure is a Hulk-like blank base body useful for a lot of things, I’m sure.
There was also a bunch of prototypes from the six inch Eagle Force line that was looking slick. There was an Action Force comic I loved that featured baddies in Mamba masks, so I’m most looking forward to the Mamba Men for another faction for my real American Heroes to fight.
The
The Gridiron Studios Warfare line looks to be using the excellent Monster Force military base bodies. These have a lot of bulky armor, but still move great, so I’m sure they’ll look fantastic loaded up with Gridiron Weapons. The camo pattern is pretty cool too.
Gimme that Bulletproof. Edgar Allen Poe is not a person I ever thought I would need a figure of, but holy shit I’m buying this as soon as I can. I’m intrigued by what other kinds of characters would be added to this Raven Society.
Finally, one of the more strangely appealing lines for me is the NPC line. Cops, crooks, priests, cheerleaders might not be the first thing that comes to mind as a must have action figure, but I cannot wait to get some of these to add to figure photos. The gangsters and robbers are a must have for super heroes. Hell, maybe you want to make a cheerleader or priest the lead of your toy story. I think I may have heard of some films or TV shows that have had success with stories about them…
