Hasbro: Victory Royale Series Ragsy Review

Cuddle Team Leader is this person in an riotously pink furry mascot costume that looked fairly creepy. I always wanted a figure, but never got one. Today we are going to take a look at Ragsy who is like a zombie punk version of Cuddle Team Leader. Mad Max meets theme park mascot. Let’s take a look!

The character artwork on these Victory Royale Series boxes starts on the side and wraps around the front and this Ragsy portrait is perfect for that because she looks like she’s peeking around the corner.

Ragsy comes with a shotgun, two harvesting tools, and a back bling pack.

The back bling is straight from the game and is called “heartless”. The peg is long enough that it stays on fairly well, but it has a tendency to rotate as you mess with the figure. The pack is made up of a couple of different plastic colors and there are a couple of clean paint hits on the bullets and the broken heart. It looks very clean (too clean if you look at the game model) and is missing detail for the stitching, wraps around the brown pockets, and bandage. Ragsy is also pretty filthy in-game, so this could also use a grimy wash.

The shotgun is the same as the one that came with the scientist. It’s cast in a fairly flexible plastic, but fortunately holds it’s shape and detail well. It fits great in the figure’s hands in firing poses and has a little bit of silver paint for detail. I think they should add some more gun metal to the main body of the gun as well.

My favorite accessories are the twin harvesting tools that are called “snack attackers”. They are mini-pickaxes embedded with the heads of Fortnite fast food mascots Tomatohead and Beef Boss. These are also cast in super flexible plastic, but the blades are still straight. There are a lot of little paint details on the blade and mascot heads, but there are also a lot of missing details like some logos on the blades, the wraps on the handles, the purple on the handle, the silver on the blades and general weathering.

The sculpting translates the funky details of this outfit into plastic well. While Cuddle Team Leader has a furry mascot outfit, Ragsy’s head is more solid, like a fiberglass statue from a fast food place. There is a lot of damage sculpted into the costume, tons of little details like clips and straps, and nice textures on all the clothing. The articulation also blends in well with the sculpting.

Ragsy has the following articulation:

  • Swivel/hinge shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and ankles
  • Ball and socket head, neck, and waist
  • Swivel thigh
  • Hinged mid-torso and butterfly pecs
  • Double hinged knees

The articulation is really good and I especially like the tilt you can get with the neck and head and the crunch available with the swivel waist and mid-torso hinge. That combo is unbeatable. The only downside is the swivel/hinge elbows, but they do get a little past 90 degree bend. I think I might have preferred vertical hinges on the wrists. Also the plastic is pretty flexible, which is nice because stuff like her jacket and belt get out of the way of motion, but the joints are a little more rubbery than other figures in this line which made balance more of an issue.

Paint is solid and clean. There are a lot of little detail paint hits like the damage on the face, the ab tattoos, and the shirt logo, but I do think she could really have used a wash all over since the character is so filthy in game. Overall, this is an excellent, playable figure that I had a lot of fun with, but the sculpting is let down by the paints a bit. I do think I’ll try and give her a grimy paint wash.
