Finally, Medicom solicits it’s MAFEX Avengers: Infinity War Thor! Plus Michael Jordan goes back up for pre-order with a couple of added accessories!
The Jordan thing was weird. Magazine scans, then solicited the next day, only to be pulled down the day after that. All pre-orders completely disappeared. But now it’s back up at the usual spots for $90 with an ETA of April 2020. Here’s the promo pics if you missed them.
The original magazine scans also showed different shoes in some shots that didn’t make it to those original promo pics. With this new solicitation they’ve added those back plus a third pair. I don’t know shoes but we now get white, black, and red.
For Thor, we again saw magazine pics but then pre-orders didn’t come directly afterwards like they usually do. That day has come though, and it’s glorious.
Medicom has been a bit weird with it’s Marvel license but I’m completely happy with the look of this Thor. They definitely went all out here with accessories and a nice looking cloth cape and impressive Stormbreaker. I mean, three heads…
…an alternate chest piece without the cape…
…and the beautiful electricity effects. I mean, replacing every disk with lightning, on top of add-ons for the ax? Awesome.
I do worry about the face a bit, as Medicom is known for the final product not looking like the prototype when it comes to facial features, but I’ve heard good things about the recent Bruce Wayne and Ra’s. But then the Tom Holland head with my Iron Spider a few weeks ago wasn’t that hot. Hopefully extra care is taken here since it’s the main feature, not an alternate look.
Thor is a little over $70 and is scheduled for February of 2020.
