Some may not know a lot about sports but everyone knows Michael Jordan. Medicom has solicited what looks to be the ultimate action figure based on the basketball legend!
Is this a first for MAFEX? Soft goods clothes? I’m not sure, but they look to be well made. In fact, even with the bigger pics, it’s hard to tell that they really are cloth.
One thing I notice, comparing it to the magazine scan from yesterday, today’s solicitation doesn’t show or mention the black shoes. All these pics have the white. Another release? Alternate version? Late addition? This might also explain the lack of a head with tongue sticking out. The likeness is great but to omit such an iconic look…
But just look at the fine detail on the included basketball!
My guess is that the cloth goods have another function. Nail the base body and release Jordan in different uniforms or clothes every so often. Away game, home game, Olympics, golf, baseball, whatever. Different shoes, heads. You get the idea. Plus they go as far as calling this the “Chicago Bulls” version.
Jordan is now up for pre-order for $90 (some may think soft goods are cheaper, it’s actually more expensive to produce) and should arrive around April 2020.
