Four Horsemen Studios: Mythic Legions Advent of Decay Delphina of Eathyross

I’m slowly but surely working my way through my Advent of Decay pre-order of Knights, Vampires, Orcs, Goblins, Dwarves, and Elves. Opening one figure at a time has been a fun experience and I think I’ve been able to properly appreciate each figure in this way. Today I’m going to take a look at one of the relatively few human knights I pre-ordered, The Templar Knight, Delphina of Eathyross.

Delphina comes in the standard Mythic Legions collectible packaging with a ton of accessories including:

  • Two heads
  • Sword
  • Arrow
  • Quiver
  • Shield
  • 3 Wing Attachment Pieces
  • Weapon strap
  • Two removeable shoulder pads
  • Crossbow

The crossbow is neat. It has an elastic cord attached and a little clip that holds the arrow on pretty well. I think it would have been nice to have a hand designed for holding the crossbow properly, but I think I was able to get some decent poses without it (medieval weapons scholars mileage may vary)

The quiver has a little clip on the back, so you can attach it to the weapons strap. Be careful with that clip, however, because I did end up snapping mine while setting up for photos.

The shield and sword are pretty familiar weapons, but they work great for this character.

The wing attachment pieces work great, looking especially nice with the wings.

The unmasked head is the same sculpt as the unmasked head for Gwendolynne Heavensbrand and I think I like it better with this paint job. The longer hair can interact with the sword and quiver if that’s on the back, but the strap can also be worn around the waist.

The helmet has a great, classic knight feel with some amazing gold and silver paints and it all looks fantastic with the figure completely loaded up for war.

But it also looks very nice in a lighter, stripped down look too.

The sculpt is pretty fantastic and I think I’ve seen most of these knight parts on other figures, but I really like the cloth tabard look of the upper torso here. Fortunately it moves just as well as the other torsos. The longer piece of the tabard that hangs over the legs is a soft plastic, but can get in the way slightly in some poses.

The paint is quite nice on this figure with an extremely shiny silver and gold combo with darker details here and there and a huge red cross that stands out strongly on a field of white.

The eye paint is very solid, but the pupils do crowd out the whites of the eyes slightly.

Overall, Delphina is an excellent knight figure. Fully loaded, or lightly armored, she’s got an amazing classic look and makes a great hero to face down the hordes of villainous orcs .

The only complaint I have is that the quiver clip broke, which is weird because the other quiver I had held up fine. I’ve got another Templar Knight on the way from the All-Stars 2.0 and I was thinking it might be nice to secure one more.
