Hasbro had a couple of fantastic dioramas and quite a few figures on display for their Star Wars and Marvel line ups. Most figures were figures we had already seen, but it was nice to see so many in a final production form. Click through for more Star Wars and Marvel Photos from the Hasbro booth!
The highlight of the booth for me, as a huge Solo fan, is the diorama of the Vandor Conveyex. They built some full train cars and it looks like they customized the Black Series Han and Qi’Ra with fur outfits to create their Vandor looks.
They also had figures we’ve seen before like Hoth Leia, Val, L3, Skiff Lando, and Dengar but they look further along in production. Val was particularly impressive with the likeness to Thandie Newton is pretty stunning. Dengar is also looking really great. Better than Dengar has any right to look.
I have to say, I find these little things super tempting. Especially now that they have a Baze and Chirrut.
They also had a neat display that showed the various stages of production of the new young Han figure. I liked to see these prototypes and paint masters displayed next to a sampling of the history of Han figures over the years. I kind of want a display like this for my house!
I’m fascinated by this figure from the SDCC set from this year. I can’t decide if I hate it or love it.
The Marvel legends that have been trickling out the last few months were also on display. The massive Venom is so impressive in person. I was thinking of skipping this wave, but I’m not sure I can now. They also had Killmonger’s mask from Black Panther on display and a rep indicated that there are hints for what’s to come in these cases.
The Marvel diorama this year is a Marvel Cinematic Universe theme and features an epic number of Hydra troopers. I wonder what they do with all of those after the show. Well, that’s what I saw tonight, check back tomorrow for more from Hasbro.
