After several weeks on the road there was a LOT of customs to see on eBay today. Some repaints, some resculpts, some characters I love seeing in figure form, some I didn’t expect. But once again Marvel Legends brings the most in the search. At this point it is absolutely no surprise.
I say that and then start out with a custom Deathstroke, haha. Although, to be fair, it’s on a Legends body.
Every time I see a Casey Jones using this head, I remind myself I need to grab one up while the grabbin’s good. But then I always forget, which is odd because I absolutely love the look of it with an updated paint job on it.
I still don’t know if this Iron Spider look is an actual thing, but I still love it.
I don’t think this Iron Deadpool is a thing at all, but…you guessed it…I love it. The red is so creamy. Am I allowed to say that about a paint job?
I’ve seen a lot of people picking up the Bandai model General Grievous because A) It’s fun as hell and B) it looks fantastic. But the cape leaves a lot to be desired. Here’s a pretty nice looking fabric cape.
Some slight tweaks makes me like the older Cable a lot more. I don’t know, I just love some metallic blue.
Same goes for the Marvel Select Thanos. A beautiful paint job brings out all that intricate detail.
I love customs of Eternity. Seeing different people’s interpretations of the starfield always makes it interesting. Plus the design itself is just striking.
I’m not familiar with this costume for Iceman, but it adds some zing to a pretty boring figure. Which was accurate, but I like this too. A lot.
If you’ve seen enough eBay Frenzys, you know what catches my eye the most is paint. Love me some good paint slinging. And that’s what draws me to this X-23. The costume could have been a plain ol’ black or gray, but the fade effect really makes it pop. Not to even mention the work on the eyes.
It took me a few glances to realize this Grandmaster is actually wearing cloth pants. Just an interesting look all around.
Speaking of interesting looks, why do we not have a Jack of Hearts yet? Sure, he’s not mainstream, but have you seen a crazier design and color scheme?
Don’t answer that. Actually, do, fill up the comments with the craziest costumes ever.
Like the Casey Jones, I keep meaning to get another model Death Trooper to eventually do a Ghost Trooper. Y’know, with all that free time we all have these days.
I’m not a huge Age of Apocalypse fan but I’m a huge LooseCollector fan. That’s enough to make me drool over this AoA Gambit.
This custom G.I.Joe Outback is freakin’ amazing.
Holy…..Sentinels? Sentinels!
These are the Bandai model kit Scariff Shoretroopers but done with a lot of TLC and some extra base ooomph. I can just picture them chasing waterfalls off in the distance.
Don’t you judge me. The joke just popped in and I couldn’t help it. Send all hate mail to Pabs.
I know I know this body but I absolutely can’t place it. It makes a hell of a Bi-Beast though. If you click on through to the other side, it’s as tall as the old Toy Biz Pitt BaF!
Finally, it’s just not an eBay Frenzy without a Storm. Okay, there’s been a lot of Deadpools and Cables in the past, and Wolfsbane is getting to be a staple, but Ororo makes her way in a lot of the time. We need a good classic, FA Storm, along with a nice Jim Lee version in the costume color everyone can agree upon.
……..
PFFFFFFFTTT!! HAHAHAHA!!! This debate has been raging on the forums for a good fifteen years. Depending on the source material and your own perception, Storm’s Jim Lee costume can either be black, white, silver, gray, and shades in-between. I’ve always believed it was shiny glossy black, but I’m going by how I see the comic version. People who skew to the cartoon say white. And then others just argue either way. But I can’t deny the silver here is pretty damn sweet.
I’d buy it. And a gloss black. And even the white. I’m a sucker.
