SDCC 2017: Hasbro Thursday Additional Pics

Something I appreciate about Hasbro’s booth is they usually dole out a couple new reveals daily which keeps it interesting. You’ve already seen pics of the Deadpool Marvel Legends and the Resistance Outfit Rey, but if you want to see more, click on through.

It’s interesting to see that Marvel Legends is dipping their toe into the vehicle game. I’m all for that. I’m not really into the vintage tribute carded figures as that’s not really my era. Now if they were Secret Wars cards…I’d be all over that.

Oddly enough I was just remarking yesterday how a good action figure can sometimes redeem a character design that seems obnoxious on the comic page. I find that to hold true with a lot ’90s costumes I hated as a reader at the time, but actually really like as toys. I think Hasbro has done it here with their completely Liefieldian Cable. This guy looks like he jumped off the page, except he actually has feet. Deadpool is also sporting a very Liefieldian looking costume, though I suppose it could also be Joe Mad inspired.

I’m so pleased that Hasbro is moving forward with the face printing on their figures. It’s looking pretty nice on their Resistence outfit Rey, so I’m hopeful for the future. People have been screaming about paint in this line forever, so it’s gratifying to see that they are taking strides to improve.

I was an EU reader back in the day, but I never really connected with the Solo kids so Jaina has not been high on my list of anticipated figures. Hasbro really did a nice job on developing it into something cool and the prototype has totally sold me on the figure. I’m loving the way the flight uniform looks on her. It’s kind of a cool combo of TIE and X-Wing pilot outfits.
