Bandai: S.H. Figuarts Spider-Man Homecoming Promotional Images and Pre-order Info

So yeah, as soon as I make a Fwoosh Weekly talking about how weird it is Bandai hasn’t officially released promotional pictures for the S.H. Figuarts Spider-Man: Homecoming figure Bandai goes ahead and releases promotional pictures for the S.H. Figuarts Spider-Man: Homecoming figure. Um, how weird is it that I’m not a millionaire yet. Right?

The figure is looking beautiful. It may be slightly lanky but it still just oozes Tom Holland Spidey. The lack of paint on the webs is more obvious in the better pics but I’m still mostly okay with it, although breaking out the paint or Gundam marker will be a decision best made after it’s in-hand. But the sculpt itself is on point, giving you something to look at over every scale inch.

And the accessories. You get several sets of hands including web-shooting, swinging, fists, grip, and thwip. And is that a hang-ten in the pic with the backpack? Oh yeah, there’s a backpack and cell phone too. And webs.

And if that doesn’t make up for the lack of accessories we’ve been seeing with other releases lately Spidey also comes with the nifty eye gimmick where the eyes can be popped out and replaced with different looking versions. There are wide open, slightly closed, and then squinting options which can also be mixed and matched. Just a neat little thing that didn’t need to be done but it’s awesome that it was included.

It looks like Bandai is going out of their way to emphasize the articulation and range of movement too. It’s rare we see ab crunch forward and back in solicitation shots, and the crotch close-up, while jarring, is appreciated. It looks kind of the same system we saw with the Bruce Lee figure.

Bandai reviewing their own prototype works for me. Most of my MCU figures are Figuarts so this will probably end up on the shelf. But I’m keeping the MAFEX on pre-order because…..sucker.

MSRP is $56 and it will release in August. Pre-orders will start popping up April 3rd.
